The Beetle Drive

Today we did a practise beetle drive because on Thursday we are going to do a beetle drive and lots of people have replied saying they can come and lots of people are saying they cannot come. It starts at half past  5 you can get soup and a sandwich and hang about talking for a little bit then we do the beetle drive!! This is how you do it:

you get a bit of A4 paper and you fold it in half 3 times.

then you open up your paper and put number one to number four on each corner then you turn it around and do the same on the over side.

When miss Dale peeps the whistle and says go it means that you are ready to start.

If you have finished your whole beetle you shout… BEETLE!!!

Then miss Dale peeps the whist again witch means everyone has to stop even if you are in the middle of spinning the dice.

6-body

5-head

4-mouth

3-antennae

2-leg(you have to role the dice and get a two six times!)

1-eye

Domes and Towers

Today we were building domes and towers. we had to find how to make structures stronger like how triangles are one of the strongest shapes

One challenge was to build a tower made out of newspaper and it had to be more than one metre tall. We made spills from rolled up newspapers and masking tape. we made many triangles which were used to strengthen the structure. We used crosses to make it more stable. At the end of the challenge we managed to make a tower that measured one metre and fifty centimetres. After the challenge we had to evaluate how we managed to work together to make it happen .

P6 were asked to make a dome from the same materials. One of the problems we that we encountered was that fact that we couldn’t work together because there seemed to be too many people in the group. our other task was to make a dome that was 1 metre tall but we did not succeed make a 1 meter dome but we did succeed in making a dome.
