Last week was really fun.  I went to social studies. We learned about flags and had a quiz about the colours of different flags.  After that we coloured in pictures of flags – I did Japan.

I am heading back there today. I don’t know what I’ll be doing yet, but I think it will be fun.

Last Friday, I went to St Jo’s for a tour around the main parts of the school.  The house teacher put me into the same house as my brother.  Her name is Mrs Reid; sometimes I’ll be working with her.  We visited the bottom floor classrooms; design and manufacturing classes; all other classes on upper floors and the lunch hall. Outside there is a football pitch and a rugby field.  They use the rugby pitch for playing on at break and lunch.

I went back again, the next Friday – I made a keyring in woodwork and design and manufacturing. I made friends with some boys who will be in my class. One even had the same name as me! Grannie and Granpa picked me up and brought me back to Holywood…

I am going again this afternoon. I am looking forward to seeing my new friends.  I am going to do another subject but I don’t know what yet.

Last week we were learning  about Dinosaurs  I was researching stegosaurus  stegosaurus had plates on its back the number was variable and it had spikes on its tail which it used to defend itself. 

Stegosaurus lived in lush forests.

We did wee books about our learning and I did sciences and the first thing I written was about how in science club we are making rockets with Mr Walker. this week we are making proper rockets with  big bottles.  we are going to glue triangle pieces of card to the bottles as fins for the rocket, These will help the rocket go up and fly; We will use a cork in the bottom to build up the pressure and really make them fly high up into the sky.  We tested the reaction with small tubes so we know what the reaction will look like in the bigger bottle; we used baking soda and vinegar.

Last week me and Mrs Nyondo started a new sword for my costume. It is the second one as the costume needs two swords. There is going to be two as it makes an x pattern when the swords are in the  holster on the back of the costume. I have made the pants, next is the top,   shoulder pads,  mask and gloves.

On Thursday the first thing that we did was art with  Mrs Jardine. We did badges with collage.

Then we had stop motion animation we took pitchers of toys slowly moved them and made videos of the toys.

Then we did gymnastics  with  Mrs McCaskey we did some balances and some warm up games.

For the last thing, making fish out of willow we used wool.

Daniel here, I am the sound technician, and it didn’t work all the time.  A couple of times I had to press buttons to retry it and make the sound effects work.  A couple of times it didn’t work at all and there was complete silence a dramatic pause, but on stage the cast improvised.  I fixed it and everything worked out.  I cued the music it worked OK.

At the start of the show I was stressed. I thought that I would mess up but I got on with it.  “Kohdie, how did you feel?”

“I felt not very good, I felt sick all the way through.”

“But Kohdie, you were really good! I liked the way you made fun of Abigail, in character of course.”

Kohdie here, I am the Oracle.I stop Abanazar from getting into the cave.  I tell Abanazar about the prophecy of  cave. Only Aladdin can get in! This is my biggest role so far.

 

On Friday last week we had auditions for Aladdin Trouble, the school show for this year. It is on December 12/13/14th.  People auditioned for parts that they wanted and then at the end of the day they were all told what part they had got. I would like to help with the costumes, the scenery and the lights. we have only 12 days until rehearsal week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are having a school Christmas dinner on December 20th and after that we have a couple more days in school then we will go off for the Christmas holiday!

On Thursday when half of the class  went to do the triathlon we did dancing  with  Mrs Jardine. We watched videos to learn dances to show the class, like the moon walk and the helicopter. I like the dances.
