Hello.

today when I checked on my frogspawn after art I saw that two or three of my tadpoles had hatched!!! I Put cucumber in for them. I remembered to check if they could eat it before they hatched, of course.

Ingredients:

112g baking spread, 112g  caster sugar, 112g self-raising flour, splash of milk, 2 large eggs, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

1. Heat oven to 180*C/160*C fan/gas 4. Put baking paper on a small cake tin.
2. Using a  whisk, beat the butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy. Crack the eggs in one at a time and whisk well. Add the flour, milk and a pinch of salt. Whisk until a mixture with little lumps in it.
3. Put the mixture into a small pot or something like one and put it in the bottom of the oven and bake for 15-25 mins.
4. Put a skewer into the middle of the cake. If it comes out clean then it is ready. Put chocolate spread or something like that on top.

Today is mother’s day. I got my mum some pansy and zinnia seeds in a pretty plant pot. Then me and Nathan made her a mother’s day picture. Mum liked them. Later we all went out to Heathhall forest. I bought some frogspawn back home. I made a PowerPoint. Later I wrote some of a book that I hadn’t finished.

Today I planted some seeds in my greenhouse.  Nathan planted the seeds too. Then we put the plants on the greenhouse shelves.  Later I baked a cake and put chocolate spread on it. Look out for it’s recipe!

Ingredients for 4 pesto toasts :

green pesto, fresh crusty bread, 1 tbsp of olive oil, 1 small ball of mozzarella, 1 pepper [roasted, skinned and de-seeded]

1. Cut then grill the bread for 2-3 mins on each side.
2. Cut the ball of mozzarella into 4  equal slices. Tear the mozzarella and pepper into smaller pieces. preheat the oven to 3-4*C.
3. Spread each toast with a layer of pesto and add some pepper and mozzarella on top. Grill for 3 mins or until the cheese melts. Then serve.                                                                      By Skye.

Ingredients for 12 popovers:

1 pinch of salt, 3 eggs, 250 ML of milk, 4 long sausages [ each cut into 3 pieces ], 4 tbsp of vegetable, sunflower or olive oil and 150g of plain flour.

Tools:                                                                                                    sieve, bowl, whisk, oven gloves, 12 hole muffin tray.

 

1. 1. heat up the oven to 220*C. Sieve the flour and salt into a bowl and make a hole in the middle. Add the  eggs, one by one.
   2. Using a whisk, beat the milk into the eggs and flour until you have a smooth batter [ no lumps ].
   3. Add 1 tsp of oil to each muffin hole and heat the tray in the oven for 3 mins. Take the tray out of the  oven and add some sausage to each hole.
   4. Put the tray back in the oven for 4 mins. Remove the tray and half-fill each hole with batter. Put it back in the oven and cook for 18-20 mins. Then take them out the oven and enjoy!                                                              From Skye,   [Nathan helped a bit].
