Hi 😀

On Wednesday we started our induction days. We met at the picnic benches by the gate and the buddies took us to our first classes. There was different buddies for each house (Nith, Cairn, and Scaur). Heres some classes we did 🙂

-PE

Dodgeball, Who can build the biggest tower
with PE equipment, Jedi dodgeball, warm up
stuff, badminton.

-Maths

All about me (maths style), solve all about me
by the teacher.

-English

Writing ideas of what we think happened in
news stories based on headline, interviewing
a partner.

-Social studies

Geography- organising pictures.
History- picture on the board and circling
things that weren't made in that time, learning
about the moon landing and finding words to
do with it around the classroom.
Modern studies- word search about things to do
with the current environment, modern studies
bingo.
RE- writing down rules of the classroom,
answering questions that were in the 
textbooks.

-Health & wellbeing

Answered questionnaire about how we felt with
going to a new school on our phones and
submitted to office.
PSE (personal social education)- talked about
school rules and what to do when lost.

-Music

Played songs on the ukulele and the keyboard.
Made a poster titled "My Musical Journey"
about our experience with music.

-Drama

Team-building games where we make our teams
into a certain shape and drama games 
including wink murder.

-Science

We used Bunsen burners and went round 3-6
different stations. 
Learned how to draw scientifically.

-Art 

Drew insects and coloured them in with bright 
pencils or just sketched them.

-French

Played French games.

-ICT

Went off topic and spent 25 mins talking about
trees.

-Design & technology

The teacher was showing us how to speak
"French" and we didn't have time to make our
own boats to race so we used ones other people
learned.

Today we will be telling you about D day.

D day  stands day day, it was the start of The end There were many D days but this one was the most important.

D-day took place on June 6th 1944 and attacked the beaches of France that Germany had taken over. The British pretended they were going to attack another beach so the Germans sent all their troops there.

D day was in ww2.

Hi 😀

On Wednesday we did a science experiment. we were separating stones, rice, sand and salt 🙂 .

We did another experiment again on Monday where we were seeing what things dissolved but im not gonna blog about that yet.

We were working in partners and a group of 3. Me and my partner, Erin, took out the stones first and dusted them with a paintbrush. We took our the rice and started by hand but then separated it a faster way i totally didn’t forget about. (UPDATE- Erin reminded me it was the sieve)
Then we washed the rice and put it in the rice tube. The first few were dusted but then we started washing them. the sieve was a wierd type of sieve which put black stuff in it we got out as well.
After this, we put the sandy salty stuff in a funnel going down to a long plastic tube thingy with filter paper in ti and lots of water. We did this for a while until all the salty water was at the bottom. We had to use two tubes.
We didnt have time to evaporate it at the end but some did and the salt was left over so it worked.

we have a new topic at school….

    ✨JUDAISM!!!!!!!!!✨ 

We made Torah posters in partners today and yesterday (i think). My partner was Erin 😀

The Torah posters were A4 pieces of paper, either rolled around something (ours was 2 cardboard tubes) or rolled on each side and we wrote facts and decorated it to make it look second level 🙂 .

reverend Janice’s assembly!! 

She showed up pictures of games like connect 4, frustration and snakes and ladders! Then she got us to explain them and we put our hands up if we have played them before. We also learnt about Easter. Jesus died on Easter and became alive again.he was nailed to the cross. He was buried in a tomb shaped like an Easter egg, because tombs looked like Easter eggs back then. We are  both not religious in any way just saying 🙂

Today we were watching newsround, and we’re going to tell you about one of the stories!!!! 😀  

The story we are telling you is about a man who is staying, under water for 100  days, and he is also teaching online classes and some young people will come swim and see him. It’s for an experiment, to see what we would be like living under water. 

I think, it’s really cool, sounds fun, and a challenge. I wonder how he gets shopping and clean water?

It looks fun, but how can he get food and internet?

It sounds like a fun exciting thing to do, 🙂 but it might get a bit lonely if you are by yourself.  🙁

Hi!! 😀  

Today we went to the devils porridge museum in Eastriggs where we learnt about ww1 and 2!! downstairs was about ww1 and upstairs was about ww2.
first we had a snack. Then we looked around downstairs where there was holes with things in them we felt, ww1 weapons like bullets and the things people used to mix the insides of bombs in, and some old telephones!
Upstairs was the room we had lunch and snacks in, gas masks, ww2 kitchen, ww2 uniforms, and evacuee clothes.
Outside was a shelter that we managed to fit the class into and a train called Sir James we could go into 4 at a time.
By the exit was a gift shop we could buy things from. Everyone could bring up to £5! i got a jar of honey from the gift shop 🙂

we could only use limited ingredients: potatoes, onions, carrots, tomatoes, 3 rashers of bacon, 2 eggs, a chunk of butter and a bit more

Hi!! 

for our WWII topic we made……..

       PLANE MODELS!!!

we used:

card
double sided sticky tape
sellotape (cant be used on outside because it cant be painted over)
masking tape (for the outside to hold wings together so they don’t have gaps)

  so a LOT of tape XD 

we could make the German planes: messerschmitts
(definitely didnt have to look up how to spell it)

or British planes: Spitfires
I’m making a spitfire model 🙂
