so today ill be talking about the mouldy vegetables.
I had very fun cutting the vegetables they now look like there sick.

and kinda desgusting but still fun to cut.  bye for now

It was good to see you all on our meet up.

I have almost completed the adding and taking away maths table. I am half way through the times table one.
I have done the Loch Ness facts sheet now too.

We were out on a walk and had a talk about how the last year and coronavirus has made us feel. We had to pick 3 feelings and then say why we felt that.

Happy
I like staying at home and being able to play with my stuff at home at my break times. I like seeing my family more.

Hi Team Holywood.
I’ve done my 2x table column and my first adding column. I chose to use partitioning as it’s my favourite way to work out adding sums. I also did the fractions sheets.

I’ve done quite a bit of Epic. I’m a bit sad as I’ve finished all the Cat Ninja books. My favourite one is the last one because it has time travel in it. The only bad bit about it was that it was the last one. The stories are about a cat that is a ninja that fights bad guys. He has a side kick that used to be a super villain. He is called Master Hamster. Cat Ninja’s real name is Claude.
I also read the Loch Ness Monster sheet and the book on Epic.

I ended today watching Horrible Histories. I really like Horrible Histories and watch them lots even when it’s not school time.

hi everybody
I have been doing lots of mental maths. I watched the video lots to try remember the tips on how to do it. I actually enjoyed it and asked to do more today but I don’t like the take away as much as adding.

I did Miss Dale’s map. Did Miss Dale mean to write soup or shop? we decided you’d buy the soup at the shop so they’d both be in the same place.

I read Jordans new jaiket.
1. Jordan was dreaming about football.
2. Jordan was woken up by his mum.
3. Jordans mum was angry. I know this because of what his mum was saying.
4. He was excited because it was really snowy outside so he wanted to go out and play.
5. Jordans new jacket was outside on the snow man.
6. His mum is gonna dry the jacket with the warm fire.
7. I think the familys going to build a snow man.

I watched some videos about different people that have been to the Arctic.

Jade Hameister
I watched a video about Jade. She is the youngest person to go to the North Pole. She was only 14.
I would like to go to the north pole because I love snow and I would love to see all the animals. I think I could do it now at the age of 8.

Matthew Henson
One of the first people to reach the North Pole. He was born in 1866. This was the year after the civil war. He was born and grew up in Maryland. Some people think he reached the North Pole first. He was a cabin boy on a ship when he was 13 years old. He met the explorer Robert Peary in 1887 while working in a store. Peary hired Henson to help carry things on the expeditions. Henson worked with Peary for 20 years and was really good at all the parts of exploring – for example dog sledding and hunting. He also learned to speak the Inuit language.
The explorers had to try a few times to reach the North Pole. Legend says Henson reached the pole before Peary, making him the first man to walk and stand on the north pole. Peary got the Hubbard medal when he returned, but Henson didn’t get one until 100 years later when he had sadly already died.

Hi everyone

I did some sum dog but it was spelling. I also did these two sheets on fractions.

I’ve just finished watching the perfect planet episode  on oceans. They mentioned the arctic and how its melting  and changing the way the oceans work. This will affect the animals.

I watched the video about the school in the arctic and I wrote this about it.

The school in the Arctic had a building similar to school buildings in this country. There was lots of snow on the ground at the Arctic school. In Scotland we only get snow now and again. The snow in the Arctic makes it tricky and hard to get to school. The video showed people running and walking to school. The teacher said she was happy when they made it to the school. I noticed the wheels on the school buses were big snow wheels. We are lucky in Scotland that we don’t have to worry about driving in bad weather very often and if we walk in bad weather its usually only rain.
The teacher said she likes to do a lot of outdoor learning. I think that is like Holywood because we do a lot of outdoor learning. I also noticed they have a gym in their school. I want a gym in Holywood!
I’d like to have a go at going to the school in the Arctic because I love snow and there was lots of it.

I did maths. First I did the blocks where you have to write in half. Im getting the hang of halves and quarters. I also did Sumdog.
I’ve read Cinderella and prince cinders and done some tasks.
Prince Cinders versus Cinderella.
Same.
The main characters  are both mistreated.
The main characters both met someone at a event.
A fairy arrived for both main characters.
Both main characters have to tidy up and clean.
Both main characters lost a bit of clothing.
Both main characters had siblings.
They both have a happy ending.

Different.
Prince cinders was a boy and Cinderella was a girl.
The magic in Cinderella was good and in Prince Cinders the magic was bad.
Cinderella went to a ball and cinders went to a disco.
The fairy that helped cinders was a bit scruffy the fairy that helped Cinderella was neat and tidy.
Cinders  had a toy car for transport Cinderella had a pumpkin carriage.
cinders lost his trousers and Cinderella lost a shoe.
Prince Cinders had brothers and Cinderella had sisters.

I preferred Prince Cinders because it was a bit funny. Cinderella is more serious.

I worked on practising my 4 times table and then I did lots of different quarter questions. I told my Mum I couldn’t do division so she made me do a lot of division. I realised I could do division! I also read more on Epic. I really enjoyed seeing everyone’s pets on the class meet up.
We watched some videos about the Arctic. One was about what explorers used to wear and what they would wear now. We then talked about the differences. A long time ago they would wear lots of thin layers and build them up. Now they wear less layers that are thicker and the big jacket or suit they wear will be filled with feathers. The lady  said she found it very difficult to move in all the layers in the old outfit. She thought it would make exploring even harder than it already was with bad weather. She found the modern outfit much easier to move in and more comfortable.

I have been drawing a comic called The Hunt. Its about a man that is searching for different hunters to help him.

We watched the 3rd episode of Perfect Planet. My 3 facts from this weeks episode are –
The rain frog lives in the desert even though it’s called a rain frog. It needs 100 days of fog to survive.
Red crabs live on Christmas Island. They lay their eggs in water, but they don’t actually like water and they are scared of it.
Fire ants make a living raft when the jungle floods to save the colony. They float in the water until the can climb up into a tall plant. They keep the queen safe in the middle.
