Thank you!

Thank you so much everyone! I have had the best time at Holywood and have a lot of amazing memories. I will always consider myself part of team Holywood! I am amazed at the effort people have gone to with their comments and art work. They all look amazing. I am going to print it all off for my Holywood Memory book/box.

I can’t believe Coupar can use a computer better than i can. What a dog! It was amazing to work with you.

I will see everyone soon for that cake Miss Dale keeps promising :p

I hope everyone is staying safe!

peanut butter cupcakes

Hi everyone I haven’t posted at all but I am  going to start doing it more often. So on Saturday it was my rat belles birthday so we had to make pet cupcakes for her and if you want you can make them for your dogs it is a really simple recipe. What you will need: peanut butter, bananas, 1 room temperature egg and baking powder. Mix three tablespoons of peanut butter and your room temperature egg together until its smooth then sit that to the side and get another bowl and put one banana in the bowl and mash it as  much as you can. Then add your mashed banana into your peanut butter and mix it and now add half a tablespoon of baking powder and mix it until its all smooth then get you cupcake cases we made about 8  and just put the mix into the cases and put them in the oven for 15 mins and 180 degrees and when they are done take them out and you can put peanut butter on top for icing or you can just leave them (remember to let them cool down) and now give them to your dogs (go look at Carson’s post for the photos)

that’s all for now hope you like the recipe bye

Island survival

On Monday a teacher from north west community campus came and another one came from Lincludin. We were gong to be doing an island survival we got in partners I was with daisy. We got a tray, funnel, beaker, compacted water, sand, stones, pop socks and cotton wool. Then we sat down for about 2 minutes while we got told what to do, we had to find away to make the water cleaner. We had to test every thing separately first then we could mix it up we also had to keep the most amount of water and make it fair (me and daisy used the same amount  of water to make it fair). so we went of to do our task we tested every thing separately then we started to mix it up. The thing that worked well for us was the cotton wool it got all the particles out it was still not safe to drink but it was a bit better so since the cotton wool worked the best for us we kept filtering it through the cotton wool and changed it out a couple times. It was now the end of the lesson so at the start miss dale gave 3 of us a sticker A B or C and we went out with the other teachers and they asked A B or C questions about the lesson.

hailstones

Hailstones are formed by layers of water attaching and freezing in a large cloud.  The biggest cloud of all is cumulonimbus which was really devastating as there was enormous hailstones the hailstone size went from 5mm to 200mm!  Hailstones fall so quickly they don’t have a chance to melt. Hailstones are actually more common in summer because there is more energy available at warmer times of the year. Warmer weather might actually result in a stronger updraft, an updraft is an up current of air. So the water rises up and freezes so that’s how we get more hail stones in summer.

School Holiday

Orla speaking, my holiday was great I suppose. For Christmas I got an iPhone 7 I got it in rose gold. We got the phone set up straight away. My mum let me go on my phone for a bit. I also got some slime kits. They were called frosty slime kits. They were from Elmer’s. We had to go to pound land to get some containers. then I started making lots of slime. We both went to the irn-bru carnival in Glasgow. It is a big fair ground in side. There was big kid rides and small kid rides. Our favourite ride was: a red and blue one that tips you all around the place. Dakota speaking, my holiday was really good. On Christmas we went down stairs and opened my present’s I got a lot of art stuff I have already made a lot of pictures with the stuff and I got slime kits a unicorn one and a Elmer’s on  so I made  slimes with Carson. On the last week I went to Glasgow and I stayed for a week it was really fun and I also got to see all my family.

Drama

On Thursday’s we have drama. the start of drama we do a game called winked murder basically one person goes out the room and miss Stapleton chooses someone to be the murderer and when the detective (person that went out) comes in the murderer has to wink at someone to kill them and the detective has to guess who the murderer is. Another game we play is we get into two groups and one of your team mates go and get a card and mime it and if your other team mates guess it correctly you get one point. after the exercises we had to make up a character with a partner and  one of you goes and sits on a chair and you get asked questions. This is going to get turned into a play.                           by Dakota

what it was like in a Vectoring time

On Friday the 20th of September the  whole school went to new Lanark for the day. the school was split into 2 groups p1/3 and p4/7 p4/7 went to a victoring styled school so we went up the stairs to the teacher ringing a bell saying “GOOD MORNING STUDENTS.” really loud. When we were up the all the stairs we got into two lines girls and boys and did a marching exercise for about 2 minutes the went and sat down . with our feet flat down arms crossed and facing the front and we were not allowed to talk at all then we had to write the date which was the 20th September 1820 and the we wrote our names . Then he gave us an alphabet sheet between 2 and we had to write it out I got the full alphabet in caps then I got to I in the other type but then we had to rub it all out and we did a math quiz which was really easy I got all 5 right then we did history we basically had to say how we would get to one country to another. Then this was probably the weirdest part they brought a live crocodile in (it was fake but once they did bring a live one in in vectoring time) but he just gave us a couple of fact about it then we went into 2 lines and did the marching exercise again then we had to do a little dance which I found quite easy but sadly that was the last but I really loved the school part more than anything.
