Morning Everyone! I’m already looking forward to what you all get up to on your first Big Thursday at home. If any of you fancy a bit of computer science at home, here are some links that might be useful:

Stop Motion

You are all becoming pros at stop motion, if you have the lego or the playdough out at home and you fancy making a film, there are lots of free apps for tables/phones that can help you make them. Here is a list of some of the top rated apps https://freeappsforme.com/stop-motion-apps/

Podcasts

First up there are hundreds of podcasts you can  listen to while you’re at home, to entertain/teach/make you think… Here are some top recommended podcasts https://www.wired.com/story/best-podcasts-for-kids/ My favourites are: Brains on (I just listened to “Do Dogs Know They’re Dogs?”)  Smash Boom Best (Chocolate versus Cheese…tough choice)  and But Why? (answering lots of the big questions, like, are jellyfish made of jelly?)

When you’ve had your fill of listening, try recording your own. We used Audacity at school and you should be able to download that to your computer for free. Alternatively, you can just use the voice recorder on your phone/tablet. If you have an iPad or iPhone you can use GarageBand to edit it – remember soundjay.com  has royalty free sounds and songs.

Daisy requested that we still did some problems from the Talk It, Solve It book we’ve been using in maths class so here is your week 1 problem. Today’s number is one of the following: 16      25       4       9       36         49         64          100

Use these clues to work out what the number is:

• I am a multiple of 2
• I am less than 9 squared
• At least one of my digits is more than 5
• 4 is one of my factors
• 8 is one of my factors
• The sum of my digits is less than 8…

Mena has made this video in computer science to say Happy Mother’s Day to her fantastic mummy.

 

Sevi has been working on making posters on the computer! He can change the writing’s colour, size and font!

P1-3 made these water cycle animations this week in computer science. They used all the skills we have been working on in this block – drawing, selecting and moving objects, and adding text.

 

This week in our animation lessons we have been learning how to change the background and add clip art.

P1-3 are very proud of some of their finished clips.
