Wizard Of Oz! – Blog Update! :)
Hi! It’s been a while since we last posted but it’s been for a good reason so…. don’t get to mad!
We have been rehearsing and performing our school show! This isn’t going to be a long blog because I just finished writing something that will hopefully end up in this weeks paper all about the show. If it ends up there then we will definitely be posting a picture on here stay tuned for if that happens! 🙂
If you weren’t at the show, don’t worry because I have some pictures right here that you can look at instead! They are all from the show, but not from the night because everyone was busy watching, but here are pictures of us in our costumes! 🙂
Big Thursday And The Wizard Of Oz!!!!
We have been Practicing for the School Show which this year is the Wizard Of Oz! The Main Character is Dorothy played By Dakota in P6. The rest of the Main Parts are:
Glinda: Cleo and Ebony
Tin Man: Hannah and James
Scarecrow: Sonny and Lewis
Lion: Euan and Kaylan
Witch: Merissa
Wizard Of Oz: Charlie and Paul.
There are lots of other good parts to play but those are the Main Ones.
In Big Thursday, We do P.E First and we did Rugby with one of the Scottish Rugby Coaches. We do P.E with Miss Jardine, But not the one that works in the Office. Then we do S.T.E.M which means Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (Maths). In Stem, we build with K-Nex and Lego. That is with Miss Stapeleton. Then we do Music with Miss Brochy-Donald. We are Learning Living On A Prayer and we used the Drums. We Drum Rhythms to each other. And we are learning the Songs For The Wizard Of Oz. The Last thing we do is Computer Science with Miss McIntyre. We have been using Kodu Game Lab to make Worlds and Code the Objects we put into it. We also learned about Internet Safety Last Thursday and some of the Ages you had to be or be over really surprised us, Like YouTube is over 13 with Parental Agreement and that 18 is the actual age you should be without Permission. Some of the Ages are 13-18 Years old.

Children In Need!!!!
Today Holywood are having a Dress As You Please Day as it is Children in need Day!!!!
People came in Random Outfits, Pyjamas and Onzies! Everyone donated at least something for the Children who need it more than us. Some people are wearing Pudsey Ears and others are wearing Pudsey Outfits. Quite a Few People are wearing spots though, Including me!!!! I am wearing Spotty Socks and a Spotty Hair Tie/Hair Bobble/ Hair Band XD
I like donating to the Kids in need because they will be able to get Clothes and Food with the Money and Maybe some Toys as well! We are all Lucky To Have What we have at Holywood! We are a very Lucky School!

This week we did the Auditions for the School Show!!!! This is my last School Show and I tried to get a larger part for the show.
This year we are doing the Wizard Of Oz, which is one of the Shows I did when I was in p2. I was a Munchkin in that show and this time round I am…. A Shared part with Euan!!!! Me and Euan are both going to be playing as the Lion in the School show and we are both so excited but a little bit nervous at the same time. In the First show I had to give Dorothy a Massive Lollipop. Greg also played as a Munchkin. Georgia did as well but she still had a broken arm at that point.
This year Georgia is the Designer. She is designing the Back-rounds and The Tickets, Posters and Leaflets, Which sounds like a lot of fun but I would rather be part of the play ^w^
Since I mentioned Greg I may as well say what he is this year too…. Greg is the Prop and Sound Manager. He gets all the Props Ready and when the person who is supposed to be doing them goes up to play Oz (Because that’s what He is playing) Greg will take over and do the Lighting and Sounds as well ^w^

The Halloween Disco!!!!
On Halloween we held a Disco and it was Really Fun!!!! To Decorate we Carved Some Pumpkins (But we only had about 5 minutes to Slice of their Heads, Bring out their Brains and then Carve Their Faces.) We also decorated the Tables with different themes. The Themes were Spiders, Ghosts, Vampires and Pumpkins!!!! I worked with My Brother and lots of other People in My Group to make a Giant Ghost Display!!!! Orianna, Skye and Rhona worked on the Biggest Ghost for the Centre and it was Brilliant!!!! Aidan and Leland helped a little bit Just to start it off though n.n
The Games were also really fun. Their was Dunking For Apples, Strawberry/Raspberry Doughnut Game (Where you cover a Doughnut in Strawberry/Raspberry Sauce and try and eat it off of the String.) There was also a Night Hunt where some of the Former p7’s from the School dressed in Ghost Costumes tried to Scare us. They were Hamish, Mark, Zak and John. We had to find Plastic, Coloured Bats. In the Dark. With Torches.

Dear Darling Readers…. Hi! I hope you have all had a good day! If not, then have a good rest of the day!!!! Or Night, because for all I know your Reading this at Midnight!!!! 0w0
The Fair Trade Coffee Afternoon and Evening were really successful!!!! Apart from the people manning the Cake Stall, everyone got 1 cake!(because the people at the Cake stall nicked at least 2-3 X3) The total of the Donations that people gave came to £131.00, which is amazing if you think about it! So many people donated and everyone is very grateful for their Contributions, The money will soon be sent off in a check to The Fair Trade Foundation. Thanks if you are Reading and donated!!!!
With Miss Dale we are doing Magnets! We have been putting together a Poster in a pair or a Group of 3 to make a Poster all about them and we have been adding information about different Sizes, Shapes and Strengths of Magnets! It also includes all our investigations we have done on Magnets, so we have been working on these for about 2-3 weeks? Anyway Miss Dale wants them finished so we better hurry and get them done! We are doing them on Posters and on the Computers…. So yeah….
Next week we are on Holiday!!!! Parents beware! Kids will be recking havoc around the house in the next 2 weeks!!!!

This week we have been planning and organising our Community Fair Trade Event. Yesterday (The first of October 2018), we baked a bunch of Chocolate Rice Krispy Cakes!!!! Fair trade of course! We hope you are all coming to the Event!!!! There are two times; One of them is 2pm-3pm and one of them is 5:30pm-6:00. The Event is open to the Community around us.
Some of the adults/parents are making cakes for the Event and Miss McIntyre has made Rice Krispy Cakes, Brownies and other delicious treats!!!! Some of the Rice Krispy Treats we made have Maltesers in them, and marshmallows on top of them!!!! We will be also making Chocolate and Banana Muffins for the Event.
We took a School Trip to Tesco’s in Dumfries to view and learn more about some of the Fair Trade Items they sell. We found out that there are hundreds of Fair Trade Coffee Brands and not many Fair Trade Biscuits!!!! If you don’t know what Fair Trade is, it helps Farmers get the Money they need to send their children/kids to a suitable School, Afford School Lunches, Electricity, Water Bills, Clothes, Food, Clean Water and many other needed things….

…Hi! I hope you all are having a good day and ummmmmmm… Enjoy! We have been learning about Magnetic Forces this week and last week… But none of that other stuff is important so yeah… Anyway! Onto the stuff we are doing…. Cause I have nothing else to say here so yeah……..

In maths the Galileo’s (Euan, Paul and Me) are doing Factor Bugs and Multiples.
In Forces with Miss Dale we are making Posters and taking notes about Magnetic Forces. We are doing Lots of Experiments with the Magnets like; Can a magnet move a piece of Magnetic Metal through several different types of Materials? And, how many Paperclips/Pins can a Magnet hold at the North and South Poles (That’s the scientific way of saying it, if you want to say it the normal way: How many Paperclips or Pins can a Magnet hold at the ends.??…)

THIS WEEKS COMEDY BLOG BROUGHT TO YOU BY US- Science Spot!!!!
Heya Folks! Back again! We hope you like this comedy blogs… and yeah! Brought to you especially by us!
This week we have been working very “hard” on our work and been learning about Forces, Light and Sound! This week we watched a couple of videos on Air Resistance on a website named Twig (Why not stick or log?) and learned about the Friction of different surfaces. We also learned about how a parachute for a Sky Diver works. The parachute basically catches the air and allows them to float gently down to the ground. Cold.Hard.Ground. ANYWAY…………………. Yes we have been working this week. So sunshine and rainbows! We also did a wooden spoon challenge were we try to slow down the spoon.
On Big Thursday we did art with Miss Jardine. We made paper models with glue, paper (Of Course!!!!!!!!!!!!) and glue sticks and more paper!!!! Yay!!!! We did Gymnastics with Miss BrochiDonald. We did Jumping! And Balancing! And Computer Science and Coding with Miss Stapleton! And we did Outdoor Learning with Miss McIntyre where we made dens with different Knots like a Timber Hitch! Yaaay!!!! It was fun, we are not being sarcastic!
