Gala day is coming up…!

“What is gala day?” Gala day is a festival that helps the school raise money for itself and all pupils must help with it and there is lots of stalls that we run, and family and friend can come too!

“When is gala day?” We try to fit it in on a Friday somewhere near 4 o’clock.

“How much money we are trying to raise?” Last year we got about £600, and are trying to get more than last year.

“How many gala days have the children organised?” We (The children) Have organised last year and are going to do the same.

March for our lives!

March for our lives is a parade in America that is against ALL guns. And want gun laws to ATLEAST be more strict after the gun attack in Florida USA. I personally think trumps idea of arming teachers would make everything worse.

learning

Today we will be doing cross country training for a quarter of an hour before lunch time. First we will do a warm up game and then we do 1 lap of the playground. After that we do a team game then we do about 3 more laps last time I ran up the side of  the big hill and fell down the muddy side. Afterwards we go back inside and get changed into school uniform and have lunch and go outside for lunch break then its a normal school day and go home at the end of school.

First of march was Thursday. In out door learning it was SO snowy so we made a igloo and I was collecting bricks in a cake tin! I was getting the smallest of all bricks and it was fun running about getting them.

Mostly everyone tried hard but some people made snow angels or went solo and did not do there’s out of bricks so did not get far.

80s dancing in the PE section of school

On Monday the 19th 2018 we were doing dancing from the 80s.With a teacher that taught us all. We were doing it at first in a pair then we done it in a squad of 4. Dancing is not exactly my kind of thing though. I felt embarrassed at first and then I wanted to join in so I did what everyone else was doing and felt better. Everyone was doing great except me.

Learning in the New Year of 2018 at Holywood

In the new year we were learning about WWII. We could make a choice on what subject of the war

that lasted 6 years. I did Defending Scotland so I could also do a bit about home guard.

We were learning about pop-art in the art lessons on big Thursday. And taken into the woods by

Mrs Stapltone to take pictures and see what we could hear and record it on paper. Then we used them to write a poem on lined paper and were given a marshmallow if the poem was good enough and after the woods we got a hot chocolate to warm up.
