Queens 90th birthday !!!

today is the 21st of April it is the Queens 90th birthday we wish her majesty a happy birthday and a great day .as a princess with her sister she used to perform pantomimes in second world war . the queens birth place was a house in Mayfair.

Fifteen minute run

this week every day we are doing a fifteen minute run every day It is so much fun we do it about quarter to three every day we have to jog and run for fifteen minutes any where in the playground and in any direction . we all do it including the teachers aswell . by Isla

This Afternoon we have done more of the Glasgow science centre things there was pig lungs. there was also a age machine that is a ten year difference it was really fun the best thing was the jump machine it was fun having a last day in school on science

 

Glasgow Science Centre

today was the last day of school and Glasgow science centre came to Holywood p1-3 went till break time and p4-7 after break it was really intresting . we all really enjoyed it the funniest part was when miss dale got a thing put on her arm and her and started to shake and she had to write her name it was really messy . Keira also did a thing were you had to get all the balls flashing at once and you had to run back and forward. we all enjoyed  it.DSCF0183

 

maths (scale)

this week in maths with miss Stapleton we are doing scale it is very fun we have done a model of the big ones classroom it was so fun we put in every thing in the class in it every one is having a marvellous time we are likening it so much we have also been doing it in a textbook we are having a thrill time learning about it.

 

WHAT IS SCALE

scale is when you decrease or increase something in to a model or drawing so if you were drawing the school you would decrease it down to a smaller size and if you were drawing a ant you would increase the size in it .

WHO USES SCALE

lots of people use scale in the world mainly builders for drawing houses or planning a building it is a great skill for life

cross country

We have a competition coming up next week for p4-7s it is cross country at king George. We have been practising lately around the school play ground  you have to run round eleven times that counts a mile. It is very fun doing it we are going to try and improve our place from last year and the p4s are going to set there place . There are prizes which are two watches you get the option of a POW watch or a batman watch.

the shed !!!

we are all very exited because we have a new shed in our computer sweet it is very big john josh zak and mark are painting it in beach hut colours that is blue dusky plum and lemon yellow miss mcutchin has been working in it with her spelling group . it is very good for a quiet working place.

digestive system

Today we done a experiment on the digestive system. We used 50 ml of clear water hand full of corn flakes and half a banana and a knee high tight  pink water and yellow water .Then we had to put it in a bowl and mix it up with forks. then put it all in a bag and mash it all up . then we had to put it in a tight and drain all the water out of it then cut the corner of the tight and squeeze it all out then it looked like poo!!!  by Chloe and Isla

Personal project

Today we had to hand in our personal projects . I did prams it was really fun I really enjoyed learning about them it was really hard to draw Keira  had a personal project the length of the classroom and Paul  had excellent drawings.

 

Feis Rois

Today we had Ally out from Feis Rois to do  ukulele with p6-7 we are learning to play Sam smiths stay with me. Ally said next week we will be writing our own song and learning other pop songs. We are hoping to learn lots of songs because we have never learned pop songs before on ukulele.
