I wonder if you could give your parents a wee nudge?

We are offering all Team Holywood pupils – 2 new school sweatshirts / hoodies. So that you can all look fabulous when we finally get back to school!

We are offering our P7 pupils leavers hoodies which will say                             TEAM HOLYWOOD 2020 on the back. So that they will look amazing when they come back for camping and cake!

We need your clothes size before we can order! Please get your folks to email us their order as soon as possible!

Thank you!

Have a great Big Thursday!

Holywood Sports Week:    1st – 5th June 2020

Active Schools have put together some virtual sports events for you to compete in at home – these look great and will be a fun way to get the family moving.

However, it’s Holywood and we have decided that this would be an excellent opportunity for us to have a week of sporting/lockdown related events which link to school learning too…

Learning Grids

Hello!

We’ve put up new learning for this week.

BUT remember if you are still working on something from last week or the week before that’s okay.

Choice and Enjoyment = Better learning

I know some folks are enjoying the Percy Fawcett work – carry on as not enough 19m snakes last week!!

Thanks,

Miss Dale

The Explorer

I have to thank Rhona for a recommending The Explorer by Katherine Rundell.

A great adventure story with twists and tension that keeps you hooked and reading on. The story begins as four children crash into the Amazon Rain forest. How will they survive? Can they survive? The author treats her characters maturely and does not put limitations on the fact that they are children. I have to admit that at one point in the book my eyes filled with tears. You really do go on a journey with the characters. Katherine Rundell writes settings and characters in a way that makes them come alive on the page.

I think everyone should read this book – you will all come away thinking about different things.  I also think you should read it again when you are an adult as I think you will appreciate different aspects; one being not to underestimate children.

I will be thinking about how we can ensure that all Holywood pupils become explorers.

Thanks again Rhona. Keep Reading!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Hope this finds you safe and well!
