Operation Safety

On Tuesday the 27th September only the p7s went to Operation Safety! It is a way to keep young people up to date about staying safe and it was a blast. The first thing I done was something about bonfire night. You used a fake firework and then chucked it on safety tape and whatever you landed on there was a question and a picture and if it was safe you could put it beside the fire. the second thing was with sp energy networks the sp mean Scottish power. We talked about how to stay safe when you find a open electrical wire or if there was something in where they were working and we done an experiment that you held each others hands and it conducted electricity and we got some free pencils and some other stuff. The third part was the paramedics where you had someone lying on the floor and you had to do stuff like the recovery position and check her pulse and when you moved the chair there was a scream! In the end you get her up and she is fine after that it was lunch and everyone was talking and having fun then we had a race… Who could put on a fireman’s uniform the fastest and next there was 2 uniforms: Police and fire who won the police and I was in the fire uniform and sadly I didn’t win but it was fun. After lunch it was with the police with how to stay safe online and it was a chat room made for this event and there was kid 1 all the way to kid 17 and we were not supposed to give out any information that is private because if you done that in real life you would regret it. After that it was the fire with how to spot danger in houses and outside and we found at least 17 dangers and they were like water opened up with no lid beside a electronic and a heater right beside a bed with stuff on it with a phone charging and wire under a table… On our way out we had a surprise a chip pan explosion with an actual fire and using water it went in a giant explosion that no one got hurt in and it was a trained professional that made it go in a boom

I really enjoyed going and it is sad that it was only a couple of hours long!
