Last week a very kind man came in called James. James is from the Social Enterprise Academy. He came in to are classroom and talked about social enterprise with us. He talked to us about what social enterprise is and about businesses.
James showed us what a charity would be like as well. If you made a charity for endangered Poler Bears, then made a million pounds then took it all, what would people think of you then. He also talked about taxes. Taxes are when you have to pay a fee to the Government. Basically if you were in a business and had some workers as well. You sold a computer for £100. Sadly with taxes, workers,insurance and other stuff you would only make about £40.
James gave us a task to do. It is to make a mini business. We worked on this yesterday. My group has three people in it Brody,Owen and me. We are trying to make money so we can donate it to the Edinburgh zoo, for the endangered frogs they have there. Are group are going to sell some frog accessories. So if you want to buy some frog toys and soft toys and other stuff you know were to go.
