Hi all, Caspian is back from baking my first loaf of bread all on my own!
Today I also did some maths and some vocabulary. I had to write down the instructions for the bread. Here they are:
Ingredients:
500g of bread flour
15g butter
1x yeast sachet
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
300ml tepid water
- Weigh 500g of bread flour and put it into the bowl.
- Weigh 15g of Stork butter and put it into the bowl.
- Make sure that there are no big chunks of butter in the bowl.
- Add a packet of yeast, and a teaspoon of salt, and one of sugar.
- Make a well (a hole in the middle of the mixture.)
- Pour 300ml of tepid water into the well.
- Mix well.
- Knead the dough.
- Let the dough prove by putting it into the bowl and putting a damp teatowel over the bowl.
- After the first prove, beat all the air out of the dough and roll it back. Repeat for 5 minutes.
- Let the dough prove again.
- Put the bread on the top tray in the oven and set it to 200 degrees centigrade.
- Check to see if the bread is hollow. If it is, complete step 14.
- Let it cool for 15 minutes.
- Enjoy!
Another foreign goodbye, Adiòs!
Great photos and nice clear instructions, good job Caspian!!
Your bread looks great, Caspian. Bread is not an easy thing to make, successfully – it requires so much kneading and takes such a long time. Well done.
