Hello Everybody,
This week I have been learning about one of my favourite places in the world, Australia! My favourite thing about Australia is the wildlife. Did you know that Australia has lots if unique types of animals. Including marsupials (marsupials are mammals that keep there babies in pouches) they are also the only country in the world to have mammals that lay eggs (like the duck billed platypus and the echidna). Did you know that Platypus are one of the few mammals that are venomous? Males produce a venom from a stir on their back legs.
his a picture of a koala I did.
I have also been learning about the great barrier reef! Did you know that its the biggest coral reef in the world, it is two times bigger than the next biggest coral reef! I did the full David Attenborough great barrier reef tour on line and found out a lot, it is really good. Here are some pictures of some of the creatures that live on the great barrier reef. I’d like to learn to scuba dive so I could explore the reef in person.
I have ordered some Australian biscuits when they arrive I will show you how to do a tim tam slam.
see you Joe
Wow Joe, fantastic drawings! Sounds like you’ve learned lots about a wide range of animals, very interesting facts! Thanks for teaching me that Platypuses are venomous, that’s something I didn’t know before reading this blog post.
You have taught me lots of things about Australian wildlife Joe! Your drawings are amazing. I like that you have included the coral in the background – great attention to detail. I agree, it would be great to explore The Great Barrier Reef!
Fantastic information and drawings Joe. Well done !
I am very impressed with your drawings, facts and knowledge about Australia Joe. I’m glad you enjoyed David Attenborough’s tour of the Great Barrier Reef. It is amazing isn’t it? Enjoy your Tim Tam biscuits when they arrive. 🙂
Lovely drawings, Joe and some great facts. I did not know that the duck billed platypus has a venomous spur on it’s hind leg! It would be great to learn to scuba dive.
Joe, reading your blog takes me back to a very popular and captivating Australian children’s TV program called ” Skippy the Bush Kangaroo”.
Great viewing it was, back in the day. And it was in black and white! That tells you how long ago that was.
Love your drawing of the koala bear. Well done on your research!
Hello Joe l really like your pictures
