Flap Jack/ Energy Cube Snack

8oz pf plain flour

8oz porrige oats

6oz caster sugar

8oz butter

1 tbsp water

1 tbsp golden syrup

1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

6oz of dried or fresh fruit (optional)

large bowl – mix plain oats sugar fruit

small pan- Melt butter add syrup and water

when almost boiling, add bicarbonate of soda

add butter mix to dry ingredients, mix well (probably with hands)

turn mixture into tray, and flatten off. Bake in preheated oven at 200 degreesC

(180 fan)  for ten to fifteen mins. Mark squares while still warm. Dribble melted chocolate over when cool.
