SCIENCE (separation) salt,stone,sand,rice

HOW TO SEPARATE!!!!

(Materials)

  • sieve
  • spoon
  • filter
  • funnel
  • paintbrush
  • container
  • stones
  • rice
  • sand
  • salt
  • pipette

how to do it

first put the mixture into a bowl. then you need to take the stones out. after  you do that you sieve the rice and put them into a separate container. then you take the funnel and place into a tube then place the filter in to the funnel. get your mixture

science

Miss Dale mixed stones, rice, sand and salt we had to separate it all!!!!

1.pick out all the stones and brush it off

2.sieve out the sand, salt until there is no more sand, salt and just rice in the sieve

3.put the salt, sand in to a container

4.pour water in to the container and mix

5.put filter paper in to a funnel

6.put the water in the funnel

7. and wait

8. then boil the water

Science!!!!!!!!

hi l am back and we ave been doing science so how we did it miss dale mixed sand, salt, rice, and rocks it was impossible because we had to separate it back to sand salt rocks and rice. to start this is easy pick out the rocks and sit the to side then get a sive and sive the rice with the sand and salt. Then you need a funal, and a pice of filter paper and fold it into four and make it into a cone and put in to the funal the get sand and put it in the put water in it then wait. Then you will get salt water and the u want to get a pice of black paper and poar the water on it carefully put it on something warm like a retarder then wait and there you have your salt and that is how u separate sand salt rice and rocks bye!!!!!!!!!!!!

SCIENCE: Separation- learn how to separate sand, rocks, salt and rice

HOW TO SEPARATE NATURAL MATERIALS                                                                           Learn how to separate different materials using these simple instructions.

YOU WILL NEED;

  1. Sand
  2. Pipette
  3. Salt
  4. Stones
  5. Containers (for holding the items as well as separating them)
  6. Rice
  7. Funnel
  8. Beakers
  9. Sieve
  10. Water

                                                                                   METHOD

  • Firstly, grab a bowl.
  • Secondly, pour the sand, salt, rice and stones into the bowl and mix them together thoroughly, adding  more of the ingredients if needed.
  • Once all of your ingredients are thoroughly mixed, fill a cup with the mixture. This will be the amount that you separate.
  • Then, take the stones out of the cup and place it into a clean, dry container.
  •  Now, pour your remaining mixture into the sieve and shake well above another container until all of the sand has fallen out of the sieve.
  • Rinse the rice under a cold tap (whilst it is still in the sieve) until any bits of dirt remaining from the sand has been washed out.
  • After you have rinsed the rice, our it into  one of your other containers.
  • Now, run fill a container with warm water. Pour the sand into the water. The salt will have dissolved into the water, leaving the sand to sink into the bottom.
  • Use the pipette to carefully remove the water into a separate container , leaving the sand in the bottom of the first container. Repeat these steps until the water is clear. (the sand will  stain the water as well as float around, so you have to make sure the water is clear otherwise the next step will not work. )
  • Penultimately,  boil the salt water until all of the water has evaporated. Scrape the salt off of the inside of the pan and pour it into the container.
  • Finally, empty the sand into the last container.

There! You have separated all of the ingredients!

science experiment :-)

hi its Erin…

and to day I will be telling you about, a science  experiment we did.

We needed to separate sand, salt, rice, and stone, from each other this is how you do it. 🙂

What you need

mixture of salt, sand rocks, and rice,

beakers and stand,

filter paper,

paintbrush,

sieve,

funnel,

plate,

container,

hot water,

pot,

hob,

How to make:-)

  1. get your mixture and take out  the stones
  2. carefully use a pint brush to brush the sand of the stones put the stones to the side.
  3. use the sieve to sieve out all the rice from the sand and  put it in a beaker.
  4. put the filter paper in the funnel  and put the sand in (the sand will have the salt in it) carefully poor hot water in wait for all the water to filter through do no let the water or sand level go over  the filter paper.
  5. repeat step 4 until the water is clear.

we didn’t have time to Finnish it so yeah this is what We did. 🙁

my partner was Skye.

bye. 🙂

Seperation Experiment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi 😀

On Wednesday we did a science experiment. we were separating stones, rice, sand and salt 🙂 .

We did another experiment again on Monday where we were seeing what things dissolved but im not gonna blog about that yet.

We were working in partners and a group of 3. Me and my partner, Erin, took out the stones first and dusted them with a paintbrush. We took our the rice and started by hand but then separated it a faster way i totally didn’t forget about. (UPDATE- Erin reminded me it was the sieve)
Then we washed the rice and put it in the rice tube. The first few were dusted but then we started washing them. the sieve was a wierd type of sieve which put black stuff in it we got out as well.
After this, we put the sandy salty stuff in a funnel going down to a long plastic tube thingy with filter paper in ti and lots of water. We did this for a while until all the salty water was at the bottom. We had to use two tubes.
We didnt have time to evaporate it at the end but some did and the salt was left over so it worked.

Bye 😀

How To Separate Salt,Sand,Rice And Stones.

MATERIALS: Salt,Sand,Rice,Stones,beakers,Sieve,Funnel,Pipette,Containers,Plate,Pot and water.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Firstly pick out all of the stones and place them in a container.

secondly to separate the sand the rice sieve the sand and salt onto a plate.

Next put the rice in a beaker using a funnel. Be careful not to drop anything.

After that get hot water and put it in a container. Put the sand and salt inside of the container containing hot water. Doing this will dissolve the salt and allow the sand and salt to separate.

Penultimately  Separate the sand from the salt water(keep the salt water) Put the sand in a beaker.

Finally put the salt water in a pot boil the saltwater. This will leave a residue the residue will be salt. Funnel the salt into beaker.

Karate Awards

KONNICHIWA! Last night the first junior karate awards were given out, and everyone had aced the test, especially Rhona, who got yellow AND orange belt at the same time. I would have got orange belt too, but I messed up at some points during the test. Only 5 people came to karate last night, whereas there were 22 on the first week.

It’s nice to know some people still came, though. BYE!
