Hello everybody,

Today I have been making some microbes out of playdoh. My mama and brother helped me design the microbes. They are all fungi microbes. The pointy bits catch inside your body and make you poorly and it is very very spikey. You can only see my microbes under a special microscope as they are very very tiny.

My big news is that I learnt how to ride my bike properly. I have only been on a bike with extra wheels before. I had lots of fun this morning riding everywhere. I am going to ride my bike again this weekend. I enjoyed the game with my class today and I did some times tables with Mr Laidlaw.

Smile every day and be happy. xxx

Robloxius Virisius

Hi all, Caspian is back!

We spent this morning on our bikes as we have been teaching Tanith to ride with her feet on the pedals. She managed today and then rode everywhere she could! We came back home in time for lunch and our calls with Mr Laidlaw. After my call, which didn’t last long as Teams was causing problems, I did some fraction work and I also created a new virus, the Robirus (scientific name: Robloxius Virisius). Its appearance is the Roblox logo and sticking out of it are some of the faces of Roblox characters such as the cursed winning smile. The Robirus strikes down people who don’t play Roblox. If you are lucky enough not to explode on infection, you get turned into a Roblox avatar and put in the game. For every infected human who enters the game, an antagonist of one of the famous Roblox games is released into our world. (e.g Piggy, Arsenal players, Bakon, Guesty, that stuff.)

Later on, I helped Tanith create a fungi microbe out of Playdoh. Also, Mum cut mine and Mark’s hair.

Farewell!

Hi it’s Niamh. Today I have done word search, I played battle ships I lost Rhys won and I done maths, I done a book review and I read caption under pants.

Some work and a new family member.

Hi everyone.
I’ve done all the work on fractions and finding unit and non-unit fractions. I really got the hang of it and found the trickier ones quite easy in the end. I’ve done a spicy 5-a-day every day this week as well. I’ve also completed one of the extreme dot-to-dots. It looks like a very pretty sun or flower pattern.
I’ve had a look at the microbe presentation and started writing out the information for the information leaflet. I then did the word search, because I love word searches!

I also wanted to introduce a new family member and use this to do some writing.

This is my bearded dragon called Zen and I will be telling you a bit about him and a bit about bearded dragons.

Bearded dragons originally came from Australia. They can be found in dry, rocky semi desert regions and dry open woodlands. This means they need a warm, dry vivarium to live in, with special lighting to mimic the sun. They require 2 different lights to achieve this. One to give UVB lighting. UV allows the dragon to make Vitamin D, which is required as it allows the dragons body to absorb calcium properly. The other light is to give heat because they are cold blooded and need to bask to warm up. Not keeping them with the right lighting or temperature can lead to health issues especially with their bones.

Zen is 3 years old so he is an adult. He needs to eat lots of green vegetables like crispy salad and rocket and then has live bugs 3 times  a week. He also needs supplements that include calcium.

Zen hates mirrors or his reflection. He will go and look at one and go into defence mode. He will expand his beard and it will turn black while bobbing his head up and down. It is currently bearded dragon breeding season, so they are all extra sensitive right now. We had to hide the mirror because it can stress them out when seeing another bearded dragon. They like to bob their head up and down to say they are the boss. They are solitary animals. People do try and keep them together, but they really shouldn’t as they can really harm each other.

He likes to go around licking different things like clothes, people and his decorations/house in his enclosure. Bearded dragons like to lick different objects, plants or people because that is their way of feeling different textures. They will also stick their tongue out to smell their surroundings better.

Bearded dragons have a third eye that detects shadows and movement. It isn’t like an actual eye ball, but a small organ on the top of his head. This is because they are a prey species and this helps them detect movement of predators above them. When we try pet Zen on his head, he will sometimes close his eye – this is him saying no thank you, I’m not a fan of that.

Zen loves to sleep. We turn all the lights out at night time. This is to mimic the day and night cycle where bearded dragons come from. It gets a lot cooler during the night and their bodies need this cycle to have proper body function. We like to put him to bed at half eight and wake him up at eight to half eight.

Stay safe everyone!
Bye for now
Cleo.

Hi it’s Niamh my login isn’t letting me login. Hi today I have done my angles, a poster to teach you how to wash your hands, I have also done my fractions and then I done a word search.

Hi all, Caspian is back!

I have decided to share my facts about the differences between the Arctic and the Antarctic as mum said she didn’t know some of the facts so I guessed others wouldn’t either.

  1. Sled dogs are not allowed in Antarctica.
  2. Worms are the only insects which exist in the Antarctic.
  3. Some animals in Antarctica have antifreeze in their blood.
  4. There are no reptiles in the Antarctic.
  5. It has Ghost Mountains.
  6. There are +300 lakes in the Antarctic.
  7. The ice fish have no haemoglobin.
  8. Antarctica has no ants.
  9. The Antarctic has no time zone.
  10. There was once a nuclear power station in the Antarctic.

I have also done some research about the writer Robert Browning.

  1. He was foremost a poet.
  2. He wrote the Pied Piper.
  3. He was seen as wilfully obscure.
  4. He wrote The Ring and the Book.
  5. He wrote Dramatis Personae.
  6. His poems had dark humour.
  7. He was born in Walworth.
  8. He was baptised 14 June 1812.
  9. He died 12 December 1889.
  10. For a time his career collapsed.

I have also done some work on microbes today and drawn a mural depicting World War Two. My great grandpa was captain of the Horsforth Home Guard and although I never met him, mum has told me lots of information about him.

Mum says we can spend tomorrow morning on our bikes as the weather is much nicer and we all want a bit more fresh air.

See ya!
