My week

pHi this week I have made a polar bear poster  and ornament ( but its head fell off) and I have also done algebra. I have been going to the stables to put my pony Harry out into the field and do his hay and muck him out.  I have been making art with my art wheel, I hope you like it. At the weekend I made playdoh. I saw my class yesterday on the computer it was a bit wierd.

Teams catch up

Sorry Gabriella and Kye did not get into the teams catch up as it would not let them sign in….apple is maybe not the best for this kind of technology. Hopefully next time we will get this to work 🤞

The Zoo Debate

Hi its Erin

After Reading Rhonas zoo blog it is a bit hard to agree with her. Because i think zoos are good because people get to see animals that they might not see otherwise see  I’ve seen a elephant pooping and it was disgusting. That was a thing I would have never have seen.

Also zoos don’t take animals from the wild any more because they have enough to breed at the zoo meaning zoos are good.  I don’t agree with how they used to take from the wild.

On our planet it said that a zoo in England have a turtle rescue programme for baby turtles that swim to far out to see to find food. They treat the baby turtles to make sure they are healthy to go back to the tropical and they send them on there first but hopefully there last plane ride.

Zoos who don’t have enough space need funding and help to make it better for the animals. I wouldn’t want any animal to be looked after unkindly or treated badly anyone could be looked after unkindly not just animals.

I found my information on our planet and zoo websites . I also learned about a frozen zoo where they freeze rare animal blood that they can use to breed more animals when they get extinct.

I support ZOOS

Inuit poster

Today I really enjoyed learning more about Inuit people and their homes.

I have found out that they could burn lamps inside the igloo called kudlik lanterns which they burned using animal fat, the lamp did not melt the igloo, it melts the first layer of ice inside but it’s so cold outside it refreezes and adds insulation!

I drew a traditional Inuit home and a modern one, I also drew an Eskimo and a kudlik lantern.

I did some sums and words this morning too.

My happy picture of Freddy

This picture makes me very happy.  I was very small when this one was taken.  Freddy died the end of last year, the day I went back to school, but looking at this picture makes me so happy and reminds me of all the fun times we had together, especially last summer 😊

Work from yesterday and today

Hi everyone.
Yesterday I started with the Quick Readings. I did all of them. My mum is trying to get me to remember capital letters and full stops in sentences. She wanted me to write full sentences in my Quick Reading to help practice this.

I then did colouring half and quarters in shapes. Followed up by Epic Reading.

To finish off I looked back at my igloo drawings. I made notes about what is different from my house and what is the same.
The same.
1. I have underbed storage like the inuits do.
2. They still have a window and an entrance like our house.
3. They live with their family under one roof like me.

Different.
1. They don’t have as much space as my house.
2. There is no electric or lights.
3. They don’t have any internet.
4. I don’t think it will be as comfortable as there is no comfortable chairs or mattresses.
5. They won’t have as many things to do as I do.

Today my mum made me practice my sentence writing again to practice my capital letters and full stops. She made me write out animal facts I know and then I had to describe an animal or creature like I did with my Christmas presents.  Can you guess?
They have 4 legs and 2 raptors. They have a pair of antenna. They like eating flying insects. They come in many colours, but they are normally green or brown.

I then did the circle half sheet and will now move on to some Sumdog. Looking forward to the class meet up!
Bye for now
Rory.

Today I have done my five a day I got them all right at first I was not sure about my answer on the divide so I done it again and checked on the calculator and got it right there were some easy ones but I still checked them again to check if they were right!
