Today I really enjoyed learning more about Inuit people and their homes.
I have found out that they could burn lamps inside the igloo called kudlik lanterns which they burned using animal fat, the lamp did not melt the igloo, it melts the first layer of ice inside but it’s so cold outside it refreezes and adds insulation!
I drew a traditional Inuit home and a modern one, I also drew an Eskimo and a kudlik lantern.
I did some sums and words this morning too.
Really great drawings there Reece, well done – they’re very detailed, looks like you’ve taken your time there. Your facts are very interesting too – its good to know they can burn lamps inside, I’d imagine its very dark at times!
Fantastic poster Reece. I like the drawings and labels that you have used. Well done!
You have learned some interesting facts about the Inuit people Reece. I really like your drawings.
Brilliant explanation about the lamps, Reece! Your poster is great, I especially like the picture of the modern house on stilts.
