Country: my mum once went to a Kenny Rogers concert with my un-related auntie and it was raining SO hard. After it they needed to walk back and they saw Kenny Rogers in his car… TAKING A PIC OF THEM! :D. So Kenny Rogers basically took a pic of my un-related auntie and my mum in the rain wearing Kenny Roger T-shirts!!!!!!! -favourite.
Jazz: l like it because it has saxophone on it I LOVE saxophone!-second favourite.
Hip hop: Who doesn’t like fresh prince of bel air? I also love lively music.-third favourite.
Dance: I love music with no singing in it. That’s why I also love lakey inspired who plays the synth.-fourth favourite.
Classic: I like lively music more, but I also think its kind of relaxing :/.-the hmmm is this good favourite.
Rock: I like rock but it’s not like… my favourite because a lot of the time it’s about “lOvE” which is kind of cringe… you know? :/ -mehhh it’s ok.
Pop: Cringy music videos are NOT my favourite thing in the world.-nah don’t really like it.
(I also like rap but it wasn’t on it.) -love it.

My second favourite song is Better Days by Lakey Inspired. (The synth artist.)
Ha ha, your Mum’s Kenny Rogers story made me laugh Rhona! Really interesting to hear about your musical preferences. I agree, the saxophone is a great instrument. I’m surprised Rock isn’t further up the list. Although I see what you mean about the cringe factor – Rock songs do tend to feature LOVE alot!
Hi Rhona
I ‘m a fan of country music too, though not so much now as in the past. The nearest I came to seeing ‘Kenny Rogers’ (with Dolly Parton) was at a tribute show at Easterbrook Hall; it was great!
Laughing at your comment about rock music being ‘cringe’!
Hi Rhona
I love that you have an unrelated auntie! I’m sure we all have at least one of those too.
Your Mum’s Kenny Rogers story is funny!
I love lively music too but I do also love all the mushy rock songs.
I’m with you on the country music Rhona, I love it too – what a great Kenny Rogers story your mum has! I love his song “Coward of the County”.
I’ve got to stand up for rock music though – its my favourite genre and there are lots of love songs (although there are lots of country love songs!) but plenty aren’t about love. Metallica – Enter Sandman, Foo Fighters – Monkey Wrench and Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit are some of my favourites (can you tell I’m a big Dave Grohl fan?)
Hello Rhona,
I think it is fantastic that you gave reasons for your the order of your musical list. That is a cool story about Kenny Rogers. I like saxophone too, when I was young I saved my pocket money for 2 years to buy one!
Do you play any instruments, Rhona?
That’s brilliant Rhona – I really like your explanations as to why you prefer a particular genre of music. That story about your Mum and her friend and Kenny Rogers was really interesting.
This post really made me laugh Rhona. Especially the part about Kenny Rodgers!! Great description of which songs are your favourites and the reasons why. I hope you enjoyed listening to the music! 🙂
