My arctic book

Hey guys , just posting a couple of pictures of the animals I have been reading up on for my arctic book. The snowy white owl and the killer whale…

Did you know….

The killer whale has 45 teeth and weighs up to 6 ton??

And…

The snowy owl hunts in day light and not night like most owls?

  1. Great drawings Findlay and I like your facts. Did you know that killer whales are not really whales? They are, actually, a species of dolphin.

  2. Hi Findlay, super drawings! I did not know how many teeth the killer whale has, so thanks for sharing. There are a few owls who hunt at different times of day. Just in case you are interested, this is an article about owls (it is American, so it only mentions some UK owls, but it tells you why different owl species hunt at different times of day, and how you can tell).

Cool choice of animals to research! Keep up the good work, Findlay.

  3. Super drawings and facts Findlay. I didn’t know that Snowy owls hunted during the day. Have you watched any of David Attenborough’s new programme Perfect Planet? I think you would enjoy it!
