Pixieland

Hi everybody

I have worked on my times tables and halves and doubles. Mummy taught me about different animal habitats because I love our walks in Holywood woods and I love animals very much. I learned about micro, mini and standard habitats. Then I picked which habitats different places belonged. Todays story was Pixie Circus by Molly Brett. It is about a circus where all the performers are animals and fairies and pixies. The ringmaster is called Mr Tufty Tail and he is a squirrel. Mummy asked me how the picture made me feel and this is what I wrote. It makes me feel happy and like I’m a fairy. It looks lovely, pretty and magical. It also feels like Pixieland. I feel i am in my book and I dance and sing. Today Mummy showed me how to find math facts in a word sum. My last lesson was about using a key to identify things. I looked at a leaf key then I identified six leaves to the trees they are from. I got them all right.

I am writing letters to my friends Iris and Penny tomorrow, they are being home schooled like me so we send a lot of letters to each other and I do my drawings for them to make them smile. We had a lovely Halloween. i wore a costume, i was a bat girl with silver cobweb tights. Mummy and Mark gave us a Halloween treasure hunt and we found lots of nice treats.

Byeeee xxx and be happy and smile every day. Love from Tanith xxx

Save the Oceans

Hi all, Caspian is back!

I forgot to write my blog last night so I will tell you what I did yesterday and today on this blog.

I’ve completed a couple of the school comprehension worksheets and worked through some long division exercises. I have also done some angle estimates, some more perimeter questions and had a refresher on fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.

I asked Mum if she could give me some work on marine biology as I want to be a marine biologist. So she asked me to research a man called Jacques Cousteau. I read through some articles online, found him in one of my encyclopedias and watched a few videos about him. This is the information I found out about him.

  1. He lived 11th June 1910 – 25 June 1997.
  2. He wrote books to help him get money to fund his marine research.
  3. He was captain of the boat Calypso.
  4. His middle name was Yves.
  5. Unlike Naval tradition, he was buried on land where he lived.
  6. He made a film called The Silent World.
  7. He worked for the French Navy in World War Two.
  8. He invented scuba diving.
  9. At summer camp, he cleaned the lake.
  10. After a car crash, he swam in the Mediterranean to strengthen his arms.
  11. When he crashed, his dreams of becoming a pilot was crushed.
  12. He lived for 87 years.
  13.  He made a s how called Shipwreck.
  14. An Irish millionaire bought the Calypso for Jacques.
  15. One of his quotes was, ‘Farming to us is hunting. In the sea, we are barbarians.’
  16. He founded the Cousteau Society.
  17. One of his movies was called Jacques Cousteau Oddessy.
  18. He once appeared on the Tonight Show.

I think he was a brilliant man and I really want to follow in his footsteps.

I also designed a poster about the damage the human race is inflicting upon the oceans.

SOS! Save Our Sea!

If we don’t save our oceans, we will destroy two thirds of all life on earth.

To stop it, you MUST recycle and clean the sea!

Do you want to be known throughout the Universe as the Ocean Killers?

No? Then do as I say!

We hope you are all okay. I am glad we are still shielding as Mum’s breathing is really bad at the moment and speaks to the doctor loads. I read the news with Mum and Mark every day and the pandemic is horrid. We are having a letter writing day tomorrow when we are going to write letters to all our friends and we speak on the phone a lot with our friends. Stay safe people!

K’nex

Yesterday the class had to make a model. We got two syringes and a  tube. Pneumatic is the name of the air going through the tube. This is me and Cleo’s model. We tied a box to it to see if it could handle it. The model barley handled it when it moved. Me and Cleo tried Lego but it wasn’t going to work we tried K’nex again. We are going to try to put some things in the box to see if it could handle it.

Halloween day

hello people and we are here with Halloween in Holywood

last  Friday was Holywood Halloween party through the day and we where doing broomstick making, spell writing, bat hunt in the woods, pumpkin carving, and spooky stories.

my group first did spell writing with miss patie, then we did pumpkin carving, then broomstick making, and then bat hunt in the woods.

this is the p7 picture of all our costumes for Halloween at Holywood, do you like it?

for broom making, we got willow and small sticks and we tied the sticks to the back of where miss S cut a little so the rope and stick didn’t slide of with the sticks.

Graphic Novel

Today at school a really nice lady came in to school to show us a graphic novel she and her friend Mike made.It was called “Strange Visitor” she came and read it to us and then we made our own comics.Mine was about to cats fighting then one ends up eating the other for tea! When she read it she read it without the book first and done lots of actions like wiggly jiggly hips and stomping feet and then she did it with the book and it was slightly different because there was a cat in it but he didn’t speak it was like a main character but it didn’t speak it was just always in the pictures of the book ,Me and my friend named the cat Mr Floof!,the book was about an old lady and her cat in a little cottage then a big hairy monster comes and they eat him for tea.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         By Josie

Comic Strip

Hello everybody! It’s Cleo. Today an author came in and read a book to us. The book was called “Strange Visitor”. It was about a lady who wished she had company. One of the main characters are the cat. Even though the cat isn’t mentioned in the book it’s one of the main characters. There’s a monster in the book that tries to get the lady at the end but the lady turns him into cat food. After we listened to the book we had to make our own little comic strip. Mine was about a big cat trying to catch a spider for it’s meal but the spider bangs him on the head with a pan and he falls to the ground. The spider then calls his brother over and they eat roast cat.  That’s all for today. I hope you all enjoy your day! By Cleo.

Halloween at Holywood

It was  Halloween day at Holywood last Friday, since Halloween was actually celebrated on Saturday, first we would put on our Halloween costumes in the morning and head to school. Then we would all gather in the hall and walk in a circle so everyone would get a good look at everyone’s costumes. We were put into groups and then there was different things for everyone to do! My group started with the bat hunt but since we were the first ones we got to hang up the bats and bugs, they were fake, next was spell writing and then pumpkin carving and then to finish it all of broom stick making. Over all I loved Halloween day!
