Yesterday I made seven masks. I was super busy. I even got more orders. I am selling them at £4 each. I’ve got lots of patterns. I stayed up to 22 past 11. I was really tired. My sewing machine was being mean to me. That wraps up today’s blog bye. Take care. By Orla.
Making masks
Today I started making my masks. In my mums shop we printed of a mask template. When we got home we got our sewing machine out and started. My mum did the first one so we knew what we were doing. Then I started making them my self. I started making some blue masks. Then I did one green mask. In total I did four masks which was my target for today. That wraps up today’s blog bye. By Orla.
Thursday
Today I got out my bed really late. Then I went for a shower and got ready for the day. Me and my mum had to do a few things for my sisters birthday. We also got some fabric for the masks. Me and my mum also decided to get some ice cream. I got a vanilla ice cream and my mum got a rum and raisin ice cream. We also went to farm foods to get salt and pepper chicken. At about eight o’clock my mum did her first mask. It didn’t go that well. Hope you enjoyed my blog bye. By Orla.
We’re going to make our own masks
Today we decided to fix our sewing machine. We got some help by a friend. Then we thought we would make some masks. I thought that was a brilliant idea. We need to get some white cotton material for the inside. I’ve already got a patterned bit of material to use for the design. We probably have to get some elastic. That’s all for today’s blog bye. My brother came round
Today my brother Fraser and his girlfriend Carrie came round. We talked for a bit and then they left to gets some tea at Fraser’s mums house. They came back after they had tea at Fraser’s mums. They brought some donuts. They were really tasty. Me and my dad had chilli for our tea. That was really yummy. I think they had a pasta bake or something like that. When they came back we started talking again and I showed Carrie my animals. She thought they were super cute. Hope you enjoyed my blog bye. Take care. By Orla.
Monday
Today I started catching up with my schedule because I’m behind. When I finished that I went to play with my slime. I played with my slime for about one hour. After a few hours later my mums friend came over. We had a sausage and bacon roll and a few biscuits. Then we got the sewing machine out and got it back into work. That’s all for today’s blog bye. P.V.C. Coated Cushion Covers for Outdoor Learning Next Term
We plan to be outdoors a lot next term and we thought it was important that each child has something to sit on. We plan to make some cushions from P.V.C. coated material so that they can be wiped clean. I am making some and Miss Dale is also making some but we need help. If you have a sewing machine and are able to use it, please can you help us?
Instructions on how to make a P.V.C. coated cushion cover:
You will need:
- P.V.C. coated material (the type used to make table cloths)
- scissors
- a long ruler
- Velcro
- double sided tape
- paper clips
- a pencil
- thread
- a sewing machine.
This cushion cover will fit a 52 x 52 centimetre cushion pad.
Measure a strip of your material that is 57 cm wide and 129 cm long. Rule lines on the back of your material to cut along.
At either end of your strip of material, fold in about 3.5 cm and secure using paper clips (don’t use pins as these will make holes in your material) to create a ‘hem’. Set your sewing machine to the longest straight stitch and sew, removing paper clips as you go.
Cut two 10 cm strips of Velcro (you can get self adhesive Velcro but I used the sew in type).
Measure 12 cm in from each side of your material, along one ‘hemmed’ edge and mark with a pencil. Attach the ‘hook’ side of the Velcro inside the marks you have made using double sided tape (this will hold it in place while you sew it).
Fold your material in at either end, wrong sides together (making sure that the end with the hook side of your Velcro is on the outside), overlapping it by about 12.5 cm and mark (using a pencil) on the outside of the material where you want the loop sides of your Velcro to go, being careful to line them up with the hook sides.
Fix the loop sides of the Velcro on to the marks you have just made, on the outside of the material, using double sided tape and sew.
Unfold your material and refold. This time put right sides together, overlapping the ends again by about 12.5 cm and fix the Velcro together. Secure the sides using paper clips again and sew (about 1.5 cm in from the sides).
Tie off any loose ends of thread and turn your cushion cover the right way out and stuff with a 52 x 52 cm cushion pad.
Chill axed Sunday
Today I didn’t do an awful lot. I mainly sat in my room doing random things. I made a loom band. It had blue purple and pink in it. That took about five minutes. My dad went to get some dinner. We had carbonara. It was really tasty. Hope you enjoyed my blog bye. Stay home stay safe. By Orla.
A met a new puppy
Today my mums friend came over with her puppy. It was a cockapoo. It was so cute. The dog was called Basil. Basil was so energetic. They were there for about one hour and a half. My sisters dad has a dog called Basil as well. That wraps up today’s blog bye. Take care. By Orla.
Friday
Today I’ve just been chilling. I went to my mums shop. My sister made me a hoodie that I wanted for a long time. It looked super cool. I also went in my garden and went on my trampoline in the rain. I was out there maybe for about fifteen minutes. Later I’m going to the cleaning. That’s all for today’s blog bye. By Orla.
