    Please can you tell me what you wrote under this lovely picture of Charlie?
    In our house, no one speaks Scots, but we put it through a Scots dictionary and it translated it as “long may you chimney stink”- is that what you meant?

  2. Joe – it literally translates to long may your chimney smoke, but it means you wish somebody well for the future. My English Dad has a similar issue working out what some Scots sayings mean!
