Boss for the day

Today I was the boss for the day because mum wanted a break !!

The day started with me asking my family to call me “magnificent Highness” Some times they forgot. If they forgot they were punished by going to the spare room dungeon 😵

I had to do some jobs around the house, washing dishes and making the beds and doing the click and collect shopping I made sure I got myself 3 packet s of sweets.

Then it was time for the fun bits.

I put on my mum’s wedding dress and got my mum to take a picture. I’ve always wanted to wear the dress.

I ordered myself some Bratz toys from Amazon (I heard about them in school in p2)

I sent my dad to the dungeon but he tried to escape.

We did funny family dance

Best of all 1 of the butterflies went out of it cacoons. Another is starting to emerge I can see 1 antenna coming out.

Wednesday workout!

Today we started the day with our nice long walk and I ran a lot of the way! I think I tired myself out because I was struggling with my maths a bit today and needed some help to do it.  I found a nice shady seat outside to do it because the weather is so nice.

More Wildlife (but not as good as Mr. Walker’s)

I went for a walk down by the river and saw a heron again.

I saw a pair of mute swans.  I also saw some whooper swans flying over the river but I didn’t get a photo of them.

I saw some tiny fish in the river.  You can probably see their shadows better than the actual fish in this photo.

I saw some long beetles on a dandy-lion flower but I haven’t been able to identify them (perhaps Mr. Walker can help).

school v home

the things I like at school are Miss Stapleton’s maths and playing with my friends Bailey and Liam on the hills spying on people.

I like doing the week in the woods where we make smores.  I remember miss dale brought chocolate digestives and we held a stick with marshmallows and melted them over the fire.  we then asked miss dale to put them into the digestive biscuits and we ate them.

I like waterslide day.  we get a couple of tyres and roll a tarpaulin down the hill. we put the tyres on the tarpaulin at the side to hold it down and Miss Dale gets buckets of soapy water and chuck it down so we can slide.  if you dont want to play on the waterslide you can bring your own water guns too.  If I get to do this again this year I will need a new water gun as mine is broken.  Last year was the first year I did this and it was really fun!

I also enjoy doing gymnastics with Miss Brockie-Donald.  She lets us have a big springboard and jump over the horse which is not a real horse but something used in gymnastics.

At home I have mum and dad to help me with my work.  If im struggling, mum can help me whilst dad looks after Bethany or the other way round.  I can play with my little sister Bethany at break time.  she gets very excited when its break time and I come off doing homework.

I can have drinks during my homework at home, but at school I can go for a drink too if I need one.  at home I can drink what I want but at school I have to have water.

things that are the same at school and at home are that we use laptops (thanks Miss Dale!), we have the same maths and literacy stuff and we try to stick to a timetable.

What I’ve been up to.

Hi everyone
Hi Miss Brockie-Donald – I’m OK, just really missing all my friends and the playground.

I’ve been working hard on my maths again. I’ve been doing the subtractions that are on our sheet. I’ve been learning about needing to borrow a one to help work them out. I’ve also been trying to do my Sumdog challenge. I’ve been trying hard to be accurate. This one has been tricky.

I learned about life cycles. We watched some videos and I drew a life cycle of a butterfly. I really liked doing this and want to do more life cycles! I learned about inherited characteristics yesterday and we did the monster task. This is my picture of the parents and the baby monsters. I am going to give the puppy task a go this afternoon.

I’m still reading Ottoline and the Yellow Cat but today I took a break from it and read 2 books that Nana gave us that have tasks in them about tricky words. I’ll do the tasks tomorrow.

Yesterday I did spelling as part of literacy. I got 9 out of 10. Then wrote a sentence for each word. I also did some creative writing for literacy this morning. Here it is –

I was Yoda and I was in Dagobah eating. Darth Vader came. I said leave you must and took out my light saber. I hit Vader’s saber. Darth Vader said join the dark side. Luke Skywalker’s x-wing landed. Luke took out his light saber and said he will not join you Vader. Then Emperor Palpatine came and he shot lightening out of his hands hitting Luke. Luke got knocked out. Yoda ran away.
Then I woke up!

Finally I’ve checked my bug hotel and so far we only have ants, snails and the odd spider moved in. I’m now going to watch an episode of Horrible Histories. Bye for now.

school should be closed

I would rather be at home than at school  so I can spend more time with my family. Mum says its so I can spend longer on the PlayStation but I disagree.

At home we don’t need to wear a school uniform.

we can spend more time on what I struggle.

we can have a longer sleep before school.

after we’ve finished school work we can play.

75th Anniversary of VE DAY

This Friday marks the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe. A celebration marking the end of the second world war in Europe.

The May bank holiday was moved to this Friday so that people could have a day off and choose to celebrate if they want to.

Some places are having a Stay Home Street Party.

Some are going to hang bunting up on their fence or in their window.

Click on the link if you would like to know how to make your own bunting for this Friday.

I wonder if Colonel Tom Moore will hang victory bunting in his window?
