High School

On Wednesday p.7s went to secondary school first we got put into house groups and  I’m in bucclough after that we went to registration my teacher was Mrs. Holmes.

After that we went to steam with Mrs. Hogg all we had to was pick a subject for S.3 I can`t remember what I picked.

After that we did Science with Mrs. Earle I was in lab 10 in science we did a safety check and all the girls had to tie there hair up if they are near boncine burners.

After that it was lunch when everyone had lunch we all went back to class I went to Spanish but we only did that for 45 minutes all we did was see what we can say.

my last class was mathes it was ok its not that hard all we were doing was fractions, decimals and number lines then drawing.

Thursday we just did drawing what was good so if we were in English we did a black out poems and in mathes we just did cross words.

Friday was really easy we did ICT religious education mathes again and then French that was my favorite because I know it really well because of Mrs. Hamilton.

Wallace Hall Academy!

Last week two of my friends and me went to Wallace Hall Academy for three days! We got a chance to meet all of the other S1’s and all of the teachers for the academy.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I took the bus up and down. I was really nervous for the bus, but it was alright. The bus back down is my favorite bus to take. Its much quieter and I get a chance to sit with my friends.

On Tuesday, we had to go to the Bailey Hall first of all. We had to sit in our houses. At Wallace Hall there are three houses; Nith, Scaur and Cairn. I am in Nith. After that, we got our time tables and headed to class.

My first class was Drama with Mrs. Griffin. I like drama. It has been one of my favorite classes we have been to so far. We played lots of games. We played a game called Robbers where you have a partner and one of you sits on a chair and the other stands behind your chair. The person in the chair is the Robber. The person behind the chair is a cop. One person starts of without a partner, and they have to call one of the robbers names. Once the robbers name is called; the robber has to try and get to that persons chair as fast as possible. If the cop taps you on the shoulder, then you sit back down.

In English we had to interview the person sitting beside us. My partner was called Charlie. We had to find out as much as we could about them. We asked each other lots of questions. Just to confuse you; there are 2 Charlie’s in my class. And their last name is practically the same. So yep… That happened

I enjoyed the days that I was at Wallace Hall. I’m not worried about going after the holidays. (I got lost and we had to ask the S6’s for help) but yeah!| The classes are fun and I have made some new friends.

Holywood review

This year is going okay for a school year, Miss Dawson was the lunch lady for most of it. She was good at what she does. Everyone liked miss Dawson and she liked everyone.

This is the best school but it is not better that home. It is almost water slide day as well. It is meant to Be good weather on Thursday and Friday to.

Week in the woods is the best bit so far, My best memory us playing manhunt and being up a huge tree with Jack, Paul, Bailey and Aidan. We were up separate trees and we were at the same height.

Residential was epic, We did a mountain climb. we also did mountain biking which was my favourite.

Lots of parents showed up we nearly ran out of seats my mum showed up to.The first half of sports day was the competitive half. Once that half was finished we stopped to have an ice lolly and talk to our parents they had a cup of tea. After that we done sports with our parents which was the other half of sports day there was the welly throw , beat the goalie and ping pong. When sports day was finished we all said bye to our parents and that was sports day finished.                                                                                                                              by Josie
