THE BIG PEDAL

The Big Pedal is now finished and lots of Holywood pupils took part in scooting and cycling. Lots of schools took part across Great Britain. We were in the small school category with one hundred and eighteen other schools. We came 29th… Not bad for a first attempt!  Well done to Shawhead who came 21st in the Big Pedal.

Bling Your Bike!

Rhian Davies was very impressed with the standard of the bike and scooter costumes. Amazing support from family – thank you!

Remember to keep pedalling – there is only three days left in the Big Pedal and we are currently leading the group in Rhian’s I bike schools. We are in the top 50 for small schools across the whole country – check out the Big Pedal website to see how we are getting on.

Thank you!!

Thank you to everyone who dressed up funny, bought  a red nose or our weirdly decorated cakes in order to raise money for Comic Relief. We will let you know how much we raised in the next newsletter.

Stronord Outdoor Centre

On the 5th and 6th of March p5-7 went on a school trip to Stronord Outdoor Centre. It took us about 40-45 minuets to get there in the bus, we set off mountain walking at about 12:00pm and arrived back at 4:30pm but went to the park and then went back to the Centre at 5:00pm. YUMMY, for tea we had the choice of pizza or sausages and beans, I had sausages they were delicious! After tea we went back to the park for about an hour and a half then came back and watched a Cheaper by the Dozen and had a cup of hot chocolate, we watched the film for about half an hour and then got board and played bop it. We had to go to bed at 10:00pm but we were aloud to talk quietly. In the morning we got up at 8:00am and had breakfast nearly everyone had coco pops then went out to play in the garden. Soon after the instructors arrived and we were put in to two groups one of the groups was for people who were confident on bikes and the other not so confident. The first people to go mountain biking was the more confident group whilst the other group was doing orienteering and swapped over at about 12:30pm.We came back to the Centre at 3:00 and set off home, we got back to school at 4:30pm and everyone was shattered!
