We are delighted at how well all our new children have settled in to Nursery life in such a short space of time. Thank you to their parents for working with us to make this a happy experience for the children.

Start of Term
Thursday 5th January, will be the start of term and we are looking forward to seeing everyone again, along with the six new children who will also be getting ready for their first day. We hope that they are excited to be starting Nursery and are looking forward to making new friends. No doubt everyone will make them feel welcome and we hope that this is the beginning of a happy experience for the children and their families.
Our morning session will have a soft start, as usual, between 8.45 and 9.10. The afternoon session will begin at 12.15. We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday.
Welcome
We are delighted to welcome Miss Awde back to the Nursery team after her maternity leave. She will be in Nursery every Friday and is looking forward to getting to know lots of new children.
We would also like to thank Mrs. Shaw for her great contribution to our team while she has been covering Miss Awde’s leave for the past few months.

As well as Mrs. Carruthers and Miss Calvert, we have a student who started with us last week and will be attending our Nursery every Wednesday. Miss Natalia Franecka is an NC Early Education and Childcare student from Dumfries College and we look forward to her placement in our Nursery all year. Welcome to our Nursery Natalia. We hope that you enjoy your time with us.

We would like to welcome Miss Ashleigh Calvert to our Nursery on placement. She is a fourth year B.A. (Hons) student in Childhood Studies at the University of West Scotland.
Miss Calvert will be here for the next week or two and then will return in February for her final placement. She has enjoyed getting to know the children this week and is looking forward to the rest of her time with us.
Start of Term
We hope that everyone has enjoyed their holiday and we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, Monday 31st October. As it will be Hallowe’en, the children can dress up on that day if they wish but this is optional.
Welcome
We would like to welcome Mrs. Jen Carruthers to our team. She will be on placement in Nursery Mondays and Tuesdays all day as well as Thursday mornings as part of her SVQ Childcare course linked to Dumfries and Galloway College.
We hope that Mrs. Carruthers enjoys her placement with us this year and that the children don’t get too confused with having two Mrs. Carruthers in Nursery.
Happy Start
It has been great to see all the familiar faces from last year in our first two days of a new Nursery year and lovely to begin to get to know our new children and their families.
We are able to share these photos of a few children at play in their first days. Once we have the blog permission slips returned from everyone, we will able to share more photos and examples of the children’s work here. We hope that you will find this a valuable insight into the life of our Nursery and that you can use the blog to add comments about your child’s experience.

Nursery Times
We are looking forward to seeing everyone when Nursery starts on Thursday 18th August. It will be lovely to see the children who are returning for their second year and to get to know all our new children and their families.
We would like to remind you that morning sessions have a soft start (8.45-9.10) and children finish at 11.55 unless staying for a full day session. Afternoon children all start at 12.15 and should be collected between 3.00 and 3.25. Children attending for a full day finish at 3.05. Entrance will be through the Nursery garden and in through the second door on the left.
If this is your child’s first time in Nursery, we suggest he/she comes initially for one hour to help him/her to settle in. Please see the letter confirming your child’s place in Nursery for details of groups and times.

Welcome
We would like to welcome Mrs. Tracey Shaw to the Nursery team. She will be working on Fridays in the Sunshine Room while Miss Awde is off on maternity leave and has also been providing us with some cover in the Rainbow Room in the past week. Mrs. Shaw has been getting to know the children over the past week or two and we hope that she enjoys her time with us.
