Special Visitors

Hecklegirth had some exciting visitors on Monday when the Riding of the Marches principals arrived to see everyone. Here are a few of the children waiting with the rest of the school to see the principals who brought their horses with them this year. We hope that the weather stays fine and that you all have a lovely family day out if participating tomorrow.

Achievement Awards

Congratulations to our achievement award winners who were presented with their trophies at our recent graduation. Staff found it very difficult to make a final choice of who should be the morning and afternoon winners, as there were lots of potential candidates for this award, but we feel that these pupils are worthy recipients of this annual trophy. Very well done to you both and keep up the good work in Primary 1.

Afternoon Graduation

As promised, here is a selection of photos of the afternoon children at their graduation ceremony yesterday. Just like the morning children, they made us feel very proud of them all. Photos of our award winners will follow soon. We hope that you enjoyed our end of year celebration and would like to thank all our families who have provided such wonderful support.

Graduation

We were all so proud of the children at our graduation ceremony today as they sang and danced to celebrate their year in Nursery. They showed great confidence to perform to their families and then to walk on stage on their own to shake hands and receive their certificates.
Thank you to Mr. Palmer for taking time to present the children with their awards and for being so patient to pose with each child so that a precious family photo could be taken. Thank you also to all the family and friends who attended our little ceremony and for your support throughout the year.
Here is a gallery of the morning children. I will put photos of the afternoon children on as soon as possible.

Graduation

We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow (Tuesday) in the school hall for our little graduation to celebrate the end of our year. Please bring your child to Nursery at normal times and use the front door of the school when you return to the hall for our celebration. We ask that you please park in the John Bell car park and not the staff car park. We hope that all the boys and girls bring their good singing voices and we look forward to seeing you all.

School Lunch

Last week Hecklegirth families joined their children to sample a school lunch in preparation for the move to Primary 1 in August. Pizza and chips or delicious sandwiches were on offer and I spotted some tasty looking chocolate cake, grapes and yoghurts for dessert which seemed to go down well with most children. Hopefully everyone is now looking forward to their school lunches when they come to Primary 1 in August.

Happy Days

We would like to say a huge thank you to the Hecklegirth Fundraisers for paying for all the children to have a session at Farmer’s Den to celebrate our year in Nursery. Not only did the children run, jump and climb with boundless energy but they enjoyed a snack with their teddies and took some time out to draw when they needed a little rest. Even Stan the Star made an appearance to join in the fun of what was a busy and very happy day.
Thank you to all those who have contributed to the fundraising activities this year as you helped the Nursery children have a super session at Farmer’s Den. These photos show the morning children having fun. Photos of the afternoon session will be posted soon.
