More Burns Fun

As promised, we wanted to share some photos from our afternoon Burns celebration. As you can see, the children looked great wearing tartan and most were keen to sample the shortbread, oatcakes, cheese and Irn Bru. Despite low numbers on Monday afternoon, most of the children showed themselves to be confident performers and families and friends looked suitably proud of their performance. Well done boys and girls!

Burns Celebration

Today we celebrated Burns Day with shortbread, oatcakes and cheese and, of course, Irn Bru. We appreciate everyone making a super effort to provide the children with ‘a touch o’ tartan’ as it added to the occasion. Thank you also to all the family and friends who came to hear the children sing their Scottish songs. It’s so important for them to have an appreciative audience and you certainly helped to make it a memorable occasion for them. Here you can see some of the morning children enjoying their celebration. Afternoon photos will follow soon.

Burns Celebration

We would like to remind everyone that we will be holding a small Burns celebration in Nursery tomorrow, 24th January. It would add to the occasion if the children could wear a little ‘touch o’ tartan’ if possible. Hopefully most of them have or can borrow a hairband, a ribbon or a scarf for the day and anyone who has a kilt or a tartan outfit would certainly help us to celebrate the day in style but the main thing is simply to come and enjoy the day.
The children have done well this week learning their Scottish songs and are looking forward to performing them tomorrow to their families at the end of the Nursery sessions (11.20 and 2.50).

Get Well Soon Miss Kerr

We thought we would send a message to Miss Kerr to get well soon as we are missing her. Nate and Kailey have recorded a little message for you Miss Kerr and the children in the Rainbow Room sang a song to cheer you up. We hope it does the trick and that you are starting to feel a little better.

Singing With Smiles

What wonderful smiles the children had when performing Christmas songs to their families on Friday. The last minute phone call from Santa in the Sunshine Room seemed to produce some lovely singing so we hope that he keeps his side of the bargain and is able to come to our party on Wednesday.
With around 200 family members in the audience between the two performances, we think that the children have certainly shown how their confidence has grown since they started in Nursery. They were so excited to perform on the stage and we hope that you enjoyed it as much as they did.

Here are some photos of the children getting ready for their performance.

We Love to Sing

We like to practise singing using the microphone.

We sing in Nursery every day so we thought we would let everyone hear what we sound like. These are two of our favourite songs. Well done to Eva and Sarah for introducing “Wind the Bobbin Up”. Please leave a comment to tell us what you think of our singing.
