Happy Families

Several families have kindly left comments on our photos. Summer’s Granny has been looking at the lovely photo of Summer with her recent certificate:

“We are very proud of Summer.”

How lovely Summer to make your family so proud. We are proud of your achievements too.

Ava and Neve’s Mums have been looking at the photos of the Family Learning make and take activities:

“Ava and mummy had great fun at the make and take. Ava especially liked making the chocolate sparklers.”

So that’s what the chocolate fingers were for Ava. Maybe you could make some chocolate sparklers at home?

“me and Neve had a great time making these lanterns Neve puts it on every night.”

The lanterns did look good. I’m sure your home looks cosy with your lovely new lamp Neve.

Make and Take

Lots of children and their families tried out our Family Learning ‘Make and Take’ on Tuesday. Scissors, glue, Autumn leaves and chocolate fingers were on the tables when I popped in and it looked there was lots of super concentration going on as the children created their little Autumn lamps. Thank you so much to Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for organising this lovely activity. We hope that those attending Friday’s sessions have good fun too.

Family Learning Make and Take

We would like to remind you that our Family Learning “Autumn Make and Take” activities are this week. Lots of families put their names on the list last term to help their children make a leaf lamp and chocolate sparklers so we hope that you have fun with Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator.

Sessions this week are
Tuesday 1st November 9-10, 10.45-11.45, 12.15-1.15 or 2.00-3.00.
Friday 4th November 10.45-11.45 or 12.15-1.15.

If you are attending the sessions at 9.00 or 12.15 please go straight to the Family Learning room (opposite the school hall) once you have dropped your child off at Nursery. If you are coming for the 10.45 or 2.15 sessions please come into school via the front door entrance. Once you have met Eileen, your children will be brought from Nursery to join you.

Rainbow Room Story Time

As promised, here are photos of the children from the Rainbow Room enjoying taking part in our “Share a Story Month” activity. They too had fun searching for all the objects that Granny bought in the story “Granny Went To Market” and enjoyed the bells and drums as much as the children in the Sunshine Room did. Thank you to Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for organising this lovely activity and to those parents who were able to join us.

Granny Went To Market

To celebrate “Share a Story Month” we recently held a family learning event where we had great fun telling the story of “Granny Went To Market”, with the children developing their learning across several areas of the curriculum.
All the children took part in the story telling which involved finding a number on the globe to show us the different countries Granny visited and then finding the items from the story hidden in the Nursery. As you can see, the children particularly loved experimenting with the bells and drums that they found, making little bands once the story was finished. We hope that those parents who joined us enjoyed this celebration of storytelling as much as we did. Here are some photos of the children in the Sunshine Room taking part. We will post photos of the Rainbow Room soon.

Easter Crafts

Easter craft activities were very popular last week with children and their families as Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, organised some fun with coloured paper, glue and pipe cleaners. It was great to see lots of children and their families take part. Thanks, as always, to Eileen – we are sure that everyone enjoyed your super activities. Reading Aloud Is Fun

Fam learningThe children and families who took part in Eileen’s rearranged Read Aloud session last week look like they had a lot of fun. Easter crafts are available next week in the Family Learning room so please remember to add your names to the list on the board in the corridor if you would like to take part.

Read Aloud

We would like to remind you that Eileen’s rearranged Read Aloud session is on tomorrow, March 1st, from 12.15 until 1.00 when story, activities and crafts will be available in the Family Learning Room. We hope that those who missed last time through illness are feeling better now and are able to attend.
