Paint, pens and paper are very popular in Nursery and lots of children have been enjoying art activities in their first full week, both indoors and out. Here is a selection of some of their work. Many more pictures have gone home so no doubt they will be decorating your fridges and walls. If you click then click again on a photo you can see more detail and the artist’s name. I wonder if any of the children can find their own work?

Afternoon Graduation
Just as in the morning, the afternoon children showed themselves to be confident individuals at their graduation ceremony on Monday and we loved the happy smiles on everybody’s face. Thank you also to all the family and friends who formed a super audience – we really appreciate your support. We hope that you enjoy this little snapshot of our day.
Graduation Smiles
We were all so proud of the children at our graduation ceremony earlier this week as they sang and danced to celebrate their year in Nursery. They showed great confidence to perform to their families and then to walk on stage on their own to shake hands and receive their certificates.
Thank you to Mrs. Alexander and Mr. Palmer for taking time to present the children with their awards and for being so patient to pose with each child so that a precious family photo could be taken. Thank you also to all the family and friends who attended our little ceremony and for your support throughout the year.
Here is a gallery of the morning children.I will put photos of the afternoon children on as soon as possible.

Graduation Invitations
Mrs. Alexander and Mr. Palmer were both delighted to receive graduation invitations made by Nursery children last week and we are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow (Monday) in the school hall to celebrate the end of our year. Please bring the children to Nursery at normal times and we will take them to the hall once everyone is in their seats. Please remember to bring your good singing voices boys and girls!
Singing Award
Orla’s family is delighted with her recent certificate:
“Thank you for Orla’s award. She was really excited about receiving it for her singing. We hope she sings loudly at the graduation. Many thanks.”
I’m sure you will be impressed when you watch Orla performing on Monday. She has been singing beautifully and making a super effort when we practise.
Rainbow Room Story Time
As promised, here are photos of the children from the Rainbow Room enjoying taking part in our “Share a Story Month” activity. They too had fun searching for all the objects that Granny bought in the story “Granny Went To Market” and enjoyed the bells and drums as much as the children in the Sunshine Room did. Thank you to Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for organising this lovely activity and to those parents who were able to join us.
Granny Went To Market
To celebrate “Share a Story Month” we recently held a family learning event where we had great fun telling the story of “Granny Went To Market”, with the children developing their learning across several areas of the curriculum.
All the children took part in the story telling which involved finding a number on the globe to show us the different countries Granny visited and then finding the items from the story hidden in the Nursery. As you can see, the children particularly loved experimenting with the bells and drums that they found, making little bands once the story was finished. We hope that those parents who joined us enjoyed this celebration of storytelling as much as we did. Here are some photos of the children in the Sunshine Room taking part. We will post photos of the Rainbow Room soon.
Sunflower Art
Having been inspired by our recent discussions about Vincent Van Gogh, the children have had the opportunity to create their own sunflower artwork which has formed beautiful, bright displays in both rooms. We would like to share a selection of some of their work – please take the time to have a look at the displays in Nursery too as we think that the children have produced some great art.

Beautiful Spring Flowers
Orla’s family has commented on the art work the children have produced recently:
“Beautiful spring pictures. Well done to all the children on such lovely and imaginative work.”
We really love that they chose lots of different ways to create their flowers.
Olivia’s Flowers
Olivia’s family loves her Spring flowers painting:
“Beautiful! I knew this was Olivia’s straight away!! She loves drawing circles and writing O’s for Olivia!!! ”
Well done Olivia! We agree that it’s a great piece of work.
