Tomorrow is party day in Nursery so the children have been busy making all the necessary preparations. They decided that they would like cakes, Angel Delight and jelly at the party so today has been spent making them.
As you can see, some of the children have had a great time in the kitchen, learning lots of different skills and the fridges are now full, ready for tomorrow. We hope that everyone has a great time.
Well Done Everyone!
Finlay’s Mum’s wants to let you all know how much she enjoyed your singing:
“I really enjoyed the Nursery Christmas Songs on Friday, all the children were fantastic, I loved the way they done the actions along to the words. Well done Kids. From Finlay’s Mummy.”
Well done, everyone.
Singing With Smiles
What wonderful smiles the children had when performing Christmas songs to their families on Friday. The last minute phone call from Santa in the Sunshine Room seemed to produce some lovely singing so we hope that he keeps his side of the bargain and is able to come to our party on Wednesday.
With around 200 family members in the audience between the two performances, we think that the children have certainly shown how their confidence has grown since they started in Nursery. They were so excited to perform on the stage and we hope that you enjoyed it as much as they did.
Here are some photos of the children getting ready for their performance.
Merry Christmas
Eileen has left a message for everyone who has enjoyed the Family Learning activities this term.
“Thanks to everyone who came to Christmas crafts. Hope you all have a merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all in 2013. I will be in touch towards the end of January with information about a growing families project.”
Thanks to you Eileen for making all our families so welcome. We are looking forward to the growing project in the new year.
Christmas Family Learning
Thank you to Madison and Imogen’s Mums for adding your comments to the photos of the children making Christmas crafts with you. Hopefully the decorations are brightening the homes of everyone who took part.
“had great fun, helping madison make some decorations, and she loved it too,she loved showing everyone what she made x”
“Imogen and I had a great time making the xmas crafts and her big brother and daddy thought they were brilliant! Thanks to all involved.”
Christmas Crafts
Thanks must go again to Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator, for providing super Christmas craft activities for children and their families to enjoy together. It’s been great to see that four sessions offered by Eileen have been full and hopefully, lots of homes in Annan are now looking more festive with the crafts produced. It seemed that the Mums, Dads, Grannies and little brothers and sisters enjoyed Eileen’s activities as much as the Nursery children so it really was a Family Learning experience.
Thanks Eileen. We look forward to more Family Learning after Christmas when the story, rhyme and number sacks will continue to be given out every week and some different activities will be on offer.
We Will Miss You
It was lovely to be able to take part in the whole school farewell to Tina and Nursery children did very well presenting her with our gifts which she seemed delighted with. Good luck, Tina – we will miss you lots in Nursery. Our loss is definitely Nithsdale’s gain.
“Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star”
The children have been learning some Christmas songs to perform to their families and we decided to take to the stage to have a little practice of using our big singing voices. We hope that you enjoy this video clip which should put you in the mood for Christmas.
Simply click on ‘Play’ to see the morning children practising one of their songs.
Well Done Everyone
Rohan’s Dad enjoyed looking at our “Children in Need” photos when we all wore spots. He left a comment for everyone on one of our photos:
“Well done Rohan and everyone at the nursery. Glad to see you all joining in and having fun :-).”
That was a fun day. Thanks for your comment.
Christmas is Coming
Christmas is definitely fast approaching and the children are getting quite excited, with talk of Santa everywhere we turn. At the start of this week we read the story of the nativity and there was great enthusiasm over the costumes in the role play area which helped the children talk about the Christmas story. The sheep and the donkey outfits have been particularly popular and baby Jesus has certainly been very well looked after.
The children also decorated the tree themselves at the start of the week and we’re sure you’ll agree that they made a good job of it. As you can see, Mary and a kind donkey took some time out from their busy schedule to help out.
