Crumble Cooking

Towards the end of term we decided to make apple crumble as we had a lovely big basket of apples brought in by several different people. The children were able to learn about the importance of hygiene and safety in the kitchen, fine motor control, counting and chopping skills, using the technology of a microwave and the effect of heat on the apples.
Here you can see the morning children demonstrating some of their skills. Afternoon photos will be posted soon.

Outdoor Food

Patrick’s family has been looking at the photos of him making bread to cook on the fire. He enjoyed tasting the marshmallows too.

“Clever boy Patrick 👍.  What a fab time you’re having Patrick! ☺”

“Patrick said the marshmallows were delicious😋😋”

Everyone seemed to enjoy the bread that Patrick helped to make and the marshmallows were certainly very popular.

Singing at Home

Two more of our families have commented on the children’s singing:

“It was lovely to watch the kids sing yesterday. Bethany sings these songs every day.”

“Gutted that I wasn’t able to make it this time, however Olivia has been singing her songs non stop at home and teaching the songs and actions to her little sister!! She told me the singing‘went good’ at nursery! 🙂”

It’s lovely to hear that the children have been singing their songs at home. It sounds like Olivia’s little sister will be a star by the time she comes to Nursery herself with Olivia teaching her lots of songs.

Autumn Performance

Isaac’s family has left a lovely comment about the children’s performance of their Autumn songs:

“Was lovely to hear all the boys and girls singing today. Isaac had been practising lots at home so was really looking forward to it. Well done everyone!”

Well done Isaac for practising at home. It’s good to hear that you have enjoyed learning these songs.

Thank You

per2Thank you to all the family and friends who were able to watch the children’s performance today of the Autumn songs that they have been learning. We really appreciate your support in providing a wonderful audience for the children and we hope that you enjoyed their performance as much as they seemed to.
One of our aims is to develop ‘confident individuals’ and many of our children showed themselves to be exactly that in performing in front of a large audience. Well done boys and girls! We think that your families were as proud of you as we were.

Autumn Work

Lily’s family has been looking at the various photos of our work on Autumn:

“Lily has been absolutely loving all this autumn work- especially the songs as she sings them all the time! 🙉 She likes to go on the iPad and watch the song clips!”

Well done for singing your songs at home to your family Lily. That must be why you perform them so well in Nursery.

Autumn Singing

We would like to remind you that, as we come towards the end of our learning about Autumn, you can come a little early to collect the children tomorrow, Thursday 13th October, to hear them singing a few songs that they have been practising.
Space is obviously limited at the moment for lots of adults as well as children, while our building work is being carried out, but we hope that we should be able accommodate everyone just for a short time. Please arrive for 11.45 or 2.50, depending on the session your child attends, if you wish to hear the children singing.

Autumn Display

Learning about Autumn this term has been helped greatly by the children’s wonderful contributions to our display area. Chestnuts, acorns, a pumpkin, various berries, a squash and leaves of so many colours have been collected by the children and their families. Good talking skills have been evident as the children shared their finds with others and talked about where they had found them.
Thank you so much to all those families who have taken the time to talk to their children about the signs of Autumn and have helped them find examples. The children have shown great enthusiasm to look at and talk about our display. Here are some of the children with their finds.
