Witches, skeletons, even the Mad Hatter and a troll arrived in Nursery on Monday for Hallowe’en. There were so many different outfits to be amazed by that the list is too long to make. Thank you to all those who helped their children play the part for Hallowe’en – here are photos we managed to capture of some of those super outfits.

Family Learning Make and Take
We would like to remind you that our Family Learning “Autumn Make and Take” activities are this week. Lots of families put their names on the list last term to help their children make a leaf lamp and chocolate sparklers so we hope that you have fun with Eileen, our Family Learning Co-ordinator.
Sessions this week are
Tuesday 1st November 9-10, 10.45-11.45, 12.15-1.15 or 2.00-3.00.
Friday 4th November 10.45-11.45 or 12.15-1.15.
If you are attending the sessions at 9.00 or 12.15 please go straight to the Family Learning room (opposite the school hall) once you have dropped your child off at Nursery. If you are coming for the 10.45 or 2.15 sessions please come into school via the front door entrance. Once you have met Eileen, your children will be brought from Nursery to join you.
Proud Family
Bethany’s family is delighted with the certificate she got for super effort with her singing:
“Bethany is fair proud of her certificate. She has showed everyone and she sings the songs everyday. Very proud”
Well done Bethany!
Start of Term
We hope that everyone has enjoyed their holiday and we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, Monday 31st October. As it will be Hallowe’en, the children can dress up on that day if they wish but this is optional.
Award Winners
Here are the well deserved award winners from the last week of term. Well done to both of you – no doubt your families are as proud as we are of your achievements.
Shopping
With all our work in the garden last term making a fairy garden, a sensory planter and some outdoor seating, we inevitably ran out of materials so a helpful little group went down town with staff to replenish our supplies. As well as shopping for varnish and some new brushes, the children took the opportunity to look for signs of Autumn on their walk and brought some lovely finds back for our display area.
Apple Crumble
Quinn’s family has been looking at the photos of the children making apple crumble:
“Quinn really enjoyed making her crumble. She kept it for her Dad to eat for pudding. Xx”
That was kind of you Quinn. I hope your Dad enjoyed it.
Outdoor Seating
As work on our outdoor area developed last term, the children learned how to use tools safely so some took the opportunity to practise their skills when we decided to turn some tree trunks into outdoor seating. As you can see, this super little team worked away with the hammer and chisel to remove some of the outer bark and then got to work with a paintbrush and varnish to give them a shiny finish. We think that they did a great job. Good teamwork boys and girls.
Autumn Artists
As part of our learning about Autumn, the children developed a good awareness of the changing colours of the leaves at this time of year. This learning developed further in the art area as some experimented to mix different shades of paint which were then used for vegetable printing. The children produced some lovely work which is now displayed in Nursery and the school corridor. We hope that you enjoy our little taster here of some of the artists at work. Tasty Crumbles
The afternoon children used lots of different skills when they made apple crumble towards the end of term. They listened well to follow instructions and produced tasty crumbles from their hard work. I wonder if anyone’s having a go at some cooking in the holidays?
