Graduation

We were all so proud of the children at our graduation ceremony today as they sang and danced to celebrate their year in Nursery. They showed great confidence to perform to their families and then to walk on stage on their own to shake hands and receive their certificates.
Thank you to Mr. Palmer for taking time to present the children with their awards and for being so patient to pose with each child so that a precious family photo could be taken. Thank you also to all the family and friends who attended our little ceremony and for your support throughout the year.
Here is a gallery of the morning children. I will put photos of the afternoon children on as soon as possible.

Graduation

We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow (Tuesday) in the school hall for our little graduation to celebrate the end of our year. Please bring your child to Nursery at normal times and use the front door of the school when you return to the hall for our celebration. We ask that you please park in the John Bell car park and not the staff car park. We hope that all the boys and girls bring their good singing voices and we look forward to seeing you all.

School Lunch

Last week Hecklegirth families joined their children to sample a school lunch in preparation for the move to Primary 1 in August. Pizza and chips or delicious sandwiches were on offer and I spotted some tasty looking chocolate cake, grapes and yoghurts for dessert which seemed to go down well with most children. Hopefully everyone is now looking forward to their school lunches when they come to Primary 1 in August.

Happy Days

We would like to say a huge thank you to the Hecklegirth Fundraisers for paying for all the children to have a session at Farmer’s Den to celebrate our year in Nursery. Not only did the children run, jump and climb with boundless energy but they enjoyed a snack with their teddies and took some time out to draw when they needed a little rest. Even Stan the Star made an appearance to join in the fun of what was a busy and very happy day.
Thank you to all those who have contributed to the fundraising activities this year as you helped the Nursery children have a super session at Farmer’s Den. These photos show the morning children having fun. Photos of the afternoon session will be posted soon.

Visitors

Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who were able to take the time today to bring their children for a visit to Nursery. Lots of children have been visiting with playgroups over the past few weeks but it was lovely to see them with their families today. We look forward to seeing you all again in August.

Questionnaire

Thank you very much to those parents who have completed our end of year questionnaire. As we are collating the results to build on progress for next year, it would be greatly appreciated if parents could return these to Nursery as soon as possible if they have not already done so. We value your opinions and the more parents who return the questionnaire, the clearer a picture we have of all your views. Thank you.

Bye Bye Butterflies

It seems like a long time ago but, after caring for them for a week, we recently released the butterflies that the children had observed so closely from being little caterpillars. Although they did not seem keen to leave us, Miss Kerr gave them a helping hand to settle on our willow and flowers in the nature area which gave everyone a chance to have a close look at our little butterflies before we waved them goodbye. I wonder where they are now?

Nature Area Display

As a final activity in our Multicultural Week we visited the nature area to add our beautifully decorated stones to the whole school display. It was lovely to see the designs that everyone else had created and the children discussed which ones they liked best. We hope you agree that this makes a super display to represent our school community.
