Nursery Rules

The children have been talking about rules in Nursery and why we need rules. You could ask them at home if they can remember what we agreed on. Here are some of the children showing us the rules to help everyone remember them.

Wonderful Pictures

Mrs. Alexander has been enjoying your lovely pictures and left everyone a comment:

“I love all your wonderful pictures. You are so arty in the Nursery! Hope to see you all out for Beat the Street soon- cards available from the office.”

I wonder how many Nursery children will take part in Beat the Street? We’d love to see photos of anyone who is taking part out and about in Annan.

First Pictures

You may have noticed that the children’s work is beginning to appear on the walls in Nursery and the corridor. Most have now produced their first drawing or painting and we thought that you would enjoy a little sample of their efforts. To help the children find their own work, click then click again on the photo and you should be able to see their names.

Blog Visitors

After setting up our blog in October 2010 to provide an opportunity for families to gain an insight into the life of Nursery, we added a Clustrmaps counter in April 2011 to measure the number of visitors to our site and we are delighted to say that we have now had more than 33 000 visitors in that time. If you click on the small map, further down this page on the right, you can see that we have had visitors from 66 countries as well as the United Kingdom. We are particularly delighted to have had 106 visitors from Poland and hope that we are helping some of our children’s families to keep in touch with what’s happening in our Nursery, despite living far away.

We really appreciate the comments on our posts as this, hopefully, helps to make it a fun, shared site for everyone. Thank you for your support in keeping our blog active. We hope that you find it helpful.

Outdoor Fun

Most of the children have taken the opportunity this week to explore the outdoor area so they are learning to change their shoes and put on outdoor suits. Some have developed their confidence on the big climbing frame, others have been off on a distant adventure on the train, practising their ball skills or making great concoctions in the mud kitchen. The garden is also a great place to make new friends as the children from both rooms play together and, as you can see, it is a very popular area of Nursery.

Brilliant Fun

Kenzie’s Mum and Dad have been enjoying the photos of the first few days in Nursery:

“Kenzie loves dressing up, looks shy in this photo, don’t be fooled. Only been first full day, loves Nursery already, brilliant :)

“Kenzie really enjoying all the different activities, especially going outside. Having brilliant fun, and loves all her teachers.”

We hope that Kenzie continues to be happy in Nursery.

Learning Journey

Two of our families have been enjoying our recent photos of the children busy in their play:

“Owen having great fun counting the animals, he has settled in really well and can’t wait for the following day to get to Nursery! Great….”

“Thank you for making Dylan feel so welcome and for helping him to settle in so well.. He has thoroughly enjoyed his first few days at nursery and has been so full of enthusiasm when he has been talking about what he has been doing. I have no doubt thatt Dylan is going to be so happy and have fun enjoying his learning journey at Hecklegirth nursery :-)

Thank you for contributing to our blog with such positive comments. It’s great to hear that you feel that your children are happy and settled – it’s what we all want.
