Proud Award Winners

Here are the proud award winners from last week with their certificates.

The afternoon children had such fun with their camp fire that we offered the morning children the opportunity to make one too. They worked so well together searching the Nursery garden for broken wood, twigs and leaves to add to the pile ready for burning and they too enjoyed gathering round their fire for a chat. We listened carefully for the crackling noises and watched while the wind blew the smoke and helped the fire to burn. Well done boys and girls for being very sensible around the fire.

Camp Fire Chat

Camp fires are a great place for a chat and some of the afternoon children asked today if they could have a fire outdoors like we had earlier in the month when we were learning about staying safe on Bonfire Night. We hunted out everything we needed and quickly had our fire on the go. Some of the children noticed a pile of broken pieces of wood we had been storing to one side and suggested that we add them to our fire which made for a great little blaze. It was lovely to hear the children chatting as they sat by the fire and there was lots of valuable conversation about why we needed to keep our distance as well as great discussion about the wonderful smell and sounds created by our fire.

Sunshine Stories

After missing their initial visit to Annan library two weeks ago due to poor weather conditions, the children in the Sunshine Room finally got their chance to visit the library on Monday. They displayed super behaviour and listened well to the stories that Tina had chosen for them. Thank you to the kind Mummy, Daddy and Granny who made our trip possible by coming with us. We look forward to our next visit soon.

Christmas Dates

We have now added those all-important Christmas dates to our diary but wish to draw your attention to them here to make sure no-one misses them. We hope that you will be able to join us for our Christmas celebration with Rev. McGougan on Friday 18th December and Christmas parties will be on Monday 21st December. Details will follow nearer the time.

Proud Grandfather

Wareeshah’s proud grandfather was happy to see her photo with her recent award:

Snowmen Everywhere

Lots of snowmen have been appearing in the art area of Nursery lately and it’s great to see the wide variety of ideas the children can produce to create their snowmen. Paint, cotton wool, material, glitter, twigs – anything they can find to experiment with has been put to different uses to create some wonderful individual works of art. Look out for lots of snowmen appearing in the school corridor and around Nursery soon.

Primary 6 Visitors

Recently there have been some very welcome visitors coming to play with the Nursery children on Tuesdays. Primary 6 has been coming in small groups to play with the younger children to build relationships and act as good role models. I think you can see from the photos that this is working out very well and we are delighted to have such helpful visitors who are acting as responsible citizens and effective contributors.
If you are in Primary 6 please bring back your permission slip, if you have not already done so, so that we can use more photos of you on the blog. Thank you for being great helpers – the Nursery children are enjoying your visits.
