Family Christmas Crafts

We would like to remind you that our Family Learning Christmas craft activities will be running on Monday and Tuesday of this week (7th and 8th December). Those who have requested a place, should initially make their way to the Family Room then Eileen will collect the children from Nursery when you are ready for them. We hope that you and the children enjoy these festive activities.

Christmas Has Arrived

You know Christmas has truly arrived in Nursery when the Christmas tree appears and the children were certainly excited in the Rainbow Room when the Christmas boxes were brought out for them to investigate. As you can see, we had lots of enthusiastic helpers who made a great job of decorating their tree. What a lot of happy smiles at the end of their busy morning as the children settled down in front of the tree to sing their Christmas songs.

Frosty Scenes

The corridors of Hecklegirth are looking very festive now and we have put up a display of some of the children’s recent art work in school. As you can see, there are many ways to make snowmen and winter trees so well done to the children for producing individual pieces of work. You can have a close look next week if you plan to come to the Christmas Fayre – look for the board opposite Mrs. Alexander’s office. Until then, here is a taster of some of the children’s art.

Thank You Grace and Kacey

We would like to say a huge thank you to both Grace and Kacey from the Rainbow Room for their very kind donations to Nursery. They have been helping to sort out their toys at home and decided to donate lots of great new toys and games for everyone to play with. Thank you very much to both families – the children have been having a great time investigating all the new activities in Nursery.

Open Day

This Thursday, December 3rd, we are having an Open Day for the whole school from 9.00 to 6.00 and we would encourage you to take this opportunity to have a chat to staff and a look in your child’s special book if you have not already done so. As we have indicated previously, your contributions are very valuable as these books are a shared document between the child, parents and Nursery staff.
Why not also take this opportunity to have a look around the school beyond the Nursery rooms, particularly if you are considering a move to Primary 1 with us next year? We hope that this is a helpful event, particularly for working parents who may find it difficult to visit Nursery and school during our usual opening hours, and look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
