Thank You

Paulina’s Mum left us a comment when she saw the photos of her telling the children about Christmas celebrations in Poland:

“That was very nice time with children. Thank you very much for that, special for beautiful songs for me. Monika. (paulina’s mum ) xx”

We really enjoyed learning about your family celebrations and are glad that you enjoyed the children’s singing.

Don’t Forget The Reindeer Food

The last few weeks have been so busy in Nursery as we learned the songs for our Christmas celebration, made cards, decorated the tree, visited different places in our community, made chocolate shapes for the Christmas Fayre … but one of the most important jobs of all was making our reindeer food. Don’t forget to put it out tonight boys and girls – let’s hope that all that glitter will help Rudolph and his friends find their way to your houses.

Party Time

Here are the promised photos that show that the party spirit was just as evident in the afternoon party as the morning one. As you can see, they joined in the dancing and games with enthusiasm and were also lucky enough to get a visit from Santa. As with the photos of the morning children, please click then click again to make the photos clearer.

Christmas Party Time

A fun time was had by all at our Christmas parties yesterday with something for everyone, be it games, dancing or party food. The children from the Rainbow and Sunshine Rooms played confidently together and were delighted to have a visit from Santa, despite it being such a busy time of year for him. Thank you Santa – we all really appreciated your visit.

The photos below give you a taste of our morning party and photos of the afternoon party will follow in the next day or two.

Polish Christmas

Recently the afternoon children were lucky to learn first hand about Christmas in Poland from Paulina’s Mum and it was very interesting to find out about the traditions that are similar and some that different to Christmas in Scotland.
The children were surprised to learn that Santa visits children in Poland on December 6th with a small gift then returns on the 24th with their main present. They often have beetroot soup with pasta to start their Christmas meal which is on December 24th and they usually have fish as the main course rather than turkey like many people in Scotland. Paulina’s family, like most Polish families, always has an empty chair at their table for their Christmas meal in case a stranger calls and wants to join them.
We all loved hearing about Paulina’s Mum’s Christmas traditions from the past and present and would like to thank her for helping us to learn about Christmas in another country. We hope that she enjoyed the songs that the children performed for her by way of a thank you.

Kind Comments

We have had two more lovely comments from our families about our Christmas celebration.

Thom’s Mum said, “We absolutely loved the concert, everyone did so well, we were all so proud. Thank you!”

Finlay’s family also enjoyed the children’s performance: “What a great photo of Finlay. We were so proud of him on Friday, he had been practising his songs at home so it was lovely to see him performing them . All the children worked so hard learning the words and actions to their Christmas songs. A lot of hard work from the children and staff. Well done.”

The children were little stars. Thank you for taking the time to leave comments, especially such kind ones. We are delighted that you enjoyed their performance.

Super Celebration

Dylan’s Mum has been looking at the photos of our Christmas celebration:

“We absolutely loved watching the children in their Christmas celebration, we are very proud of Dylan and all the other boys and girls as they done really well, standing up infront of a big audience singing their wee hearts out and all looked so cute. A big well done to all the staff cause all ur hard work really paid off, was truly a lovely celebration 🙂 xxx”

Thank you for your comment. We were certainly proud of every one of the children who showed great confidence in front of a big audience.

Christmas Celebration

We hope that, like us, you were very proud of all the children as they behaved and sang so beautifully in front of a big audience at our Christmas celebration on Friday. Huge thanks go to Rev. McGougan, Mrs. Alexander and Mr. Palmer for joining us and to the many family members who helped to make this a special occasion for the children. Here are a few photos of the children as they prepared for their performance.

Hello Miss Awde

Miss A2Do you remember this photo with the caption “Goodbye Miss Awde”? Well, we are delighted to say it’s now “Hello Miss Awde” as she is back with us as a permanent member of staff. Miss Awde was successful at interview for the one day a week post and will work as a Nursery Nurse on a Friday in the Sunshine Room. Children and staff alike are delighted to have Miss Awde back as part of our Nursery.
