Heartstart P6/7

A couple of weeks ago all of P6 and P7 had an input from some people from the Heartstart foundation. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! We were taught what to do in some life saving situations. We got to do CPR on some dummies. We also watched some videos of how to do and use these different skills safely and sensibly. A lot of us enjoyed it when we got do try and do the recovery position on our classmates. The most important message of the day was to never use these skills on someone when they do not need it. Miss Mawer and Mrs Campbell were there and they loved watching us! We were told what to do if someone was choking, bleeding, having a heart attack or fainting. It was a very fun and exciting day for everyone and hopefully they all remember these skills and they can possibly use them when they are older. We all loved having these visitors and hopefully they can come back again!

ICT Maths Club

During term 2 and term 3 Miss Mawer ran an ICT maths club for all ages to improve their maths and numeracy skills on the computer. They played games like table mountain and sumdog. They all had lots of fun! This club was also set up to improve everybody’s confidence on computers.

Soccer Sevens

On the 2nd of October 2018 Joseph, Alex O, Reilly, Reece, Finley, Kasey, Lucas, Callum and Will went to Palmerston indoor arena to play in a football tournament called Soccer Sevens. The whole team played brilliantly. We played a against Georgetown, Newington, Hardgate, Heathall, Laurieknowe and Lochmaben. We were placed 2nd by just 1 point. It was so close. We won 4 matches, drew 1 match and lost one match. The team represented the school and we couldn’t have played much better. Well Done!
