Public Health Advice

Good morning.

There have been several cases of norovirus across the school amongst both pupils and staff. We must follow Public Health advice and enforce the 48-hour exclusion period of recovery, even if your child appears to have recovered. Children should not return to school for at least 48 hours after the last incident of vomiting or diarrhoea.

Public Health have asked us to direct parents/carers to the MHS advice: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/diarrhoea-and-vomiting/
as well as the government advice: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/health-protection-in-schools-and-other-childcare-facilities/managing-specific-infectious-diseases-a-to-z#diarrhoea-and-vomiting-gastroenteritis

We realise that the 48-hour exclusion period can cause issues for childcare. However, we must follow the health guidance.

Thank you for your support.
