Other activities from this week!

This week we took our usual fortnightly trip to the Menzieshill Library. We swapped our books and read for a little while. The librarian commented on how polite and well-behaved we were which makes Miss Douglas and us feel very proud.

We also went out for another session on our new scooters. We tried our best not to bump into each other and to look where we were going. It was lots of fun and even Miss Douglas had a turn!!

P.E

In P.E this week we focused on popular gymnastic travel movements such as the releve, skip, battement and chasse. As we practised these we tried hard to extend our bodies and not wobble! We know that we can make these movements even more interesting by changing our speed, pathway, level and the size of the step we take.

We spent time exploring these movements by travelling around the gym, using the floor and some apparatus.

We are becoming more confident and more aware of our bodies as we move and change shape.

Titanic

This term P4 really wanted to learn about the Titanic ! This week we started by looking at the ship’s construction and White Star Line (the shipping company behind it).

We looked at the events before, during and after the disaster and sorted them into a timeline. We also looked at the first, second and third class areas on the ship before writing facts about some of the ship’s most notable passengers. We really liked the sound of “The Unsinkable Molly Brown”.

We are really looking forward to finding out more about the Titanic and life during that period.

Data Handling

We have been learning about data handling in maths. We started out by exploring bar graphs, pictograms, tables and charts and answering questions about the information within them. We then came up with questions of our own and carried out surveys in class. After that we displayed the data we collected in bar graphs and made up some questions about them for our friends to answer.

We will try displaying data in other ways next week. 😊
