Today is National Numeracy Day!
Today is about celebrating numbers and how we use them in everyday life. Numbers are all around us and play a big part in our lives. Have a look around, where can you see numbers in your house?
Try out some of the fun Numeracy activities below. Build your skills and confidence with numbers, you can do it! (Remember our Learning Pit!)
- Click on the link to try some of these National Numeracy Day activities!
- MyMaths- a new online resource to try (if you haven’t already!) MyMaths has lots of resources, activities and games on different numeracy and maths topics. Everyone has an individual username and password. If you would like to access this resource, please contact Mrs Davidson by emailing st-pius@dundeecity.gov.uk with your child’s name and class included in the email. She will get the information sent out to you as soon as possible.
- Sumdog!
I have set up a class competition this week on Sumdog. Have you started? There is also a Dundee Contest, involving lots of school across Dundee. This will start on Friday 15th May and end on Thursday 21st May. I’ve entered our class, log in from Friday to play and represent St Pius! - Parents and carers- If you want more information and support on how to help your children with their numeracy and maths head to https://numeracyday.com/ where this morning’s virtual numeracy festival is dedicated to helping parents and carers help their children.
I hope you try some of these activities and have fun with numbers today. Can you think of any other activities with numbers you could try? Be creative! Remember to share your learning on our Teams page if you can.
Miss you all! Stay home, stay safe and stay smiling.
