Celebrating learning in technologies

World Scratch Day and Scratch Dundee Day 13th May 2017

A part of the worldwide 10 year anniversary celebrations of Scratch Day, we hosted a Scratch Dundee Day ( #scratchdundee) to allow our learners across the city the opportunity to come and showcase their skills they have been learning in Primary School, Secondary School and at Code Clubs. We also encouraged anyone who hadn’t yet had the chance to use this fun and creative computing science language to come a try it out whilst being supported by a range of Code Club volunteers.

Using Central Library’s Opportunities Area we met with pupils from as young as P2 through to S2 who were there with their friends and families and who all enjoyed creating challenges and games whilst developing their computing skills. Several parents accompanied their children to the event and everyone joined in.

It was a super day and thanks go to all the fab volunteers who gave up their day as well as Central Library’s Alistair Wilson for supporting us in the venture and letting us share their library.
