Monday and Tuesday will be your last opportunity to have your name written into the Dens Road Guitar Hero Hall of Fame for 2011. With the mini tournament hotting up at 20p a go and the main elite competition changing by the minute, the last two days should live up to the hype.
Last week the ‘Punk Rockers’ finished their new range of stylish and modern guitars. The response from their fans has been awesome with one particular P3 asking, “Did you REALLY make them?”. The answer was a resounding, “Yes we did!”.
What an excellent all round effort from P5/6 to collect money for Guitar Hero! The last few days saw some great competitors try and make it on the leaderboard. We thank each class so much for the support they have shown. P5/6 have reached their £20 target with a whopping £106 and 50p. The final leaderboard is as follows:

The Punk Rockers recently released a number of albums to be sold across the world. With the guidance of an expert graphic designer (Mrs. McLean) the band created an eye catching album cover. Here are examples of just a few.
When planning for The Punk Rockers Dens Road tour, we realised that there was a lot of things to think about. We decided to use posters to advertise, but again we needed to think what needed to be on them.
Only a couple of days to go, posters to be sent to every class tomorrow!
On Wednesday 23rd February The Punk Rockers (P5/6) will be commencing their Dens Road tour. They are looking for the very best players to rock with them for a simple cost of 50p per game for p4-7. The best scores in every class will be recorded with a class prize presented. The two best scores will battle for legend status in the school at our Games Based Learning Assembly. Infants do not panic, a simple version of the game will be made available to P1-3 with a small cost of 20p being needed. I wish everyone a rocking time!
With all the guitars painted the children made an effort to add the important details like the tuning pegs, pick ups and volume knobs. Some groups even managed to get their strings attached. Now they look like a guitar any Rock Star would be proud to play.
P5/6 were set a challenge to make a guitar from junk modelling materials brought in from home. They have now made the body and neck of the guitar and found their own way to connect them together. After papering the guitar they are now in the process of painting them. Nice work class!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls let’s get ready to rock! Over the coming weeks Guitar Heroes finest will be challenging everyone to a ‘Rock-Off’. The two best ‘rockers’ on Guitar Hero will have a fantastic final battle at our Games Based Learning Assembly. With a Guitar Hero tour coming to each class soon, we are proud to offer the chance to become a Rock Legend at Dens Road PS. Each class will have a crowned champion, with the 2 highest scoring players having a Guitar Hero battle to decide who is the best!
Hello and welcome to P5/6s Blog at Dens Road PS. We are currently using games based learning for our class topic work. This term we are ‘rocking out’ with Guitar Hero. Hang around and find out more about our class topic.
