Drum Masters

This week we have been learning how to play the drums. It was great fun and we were all fabulous at it! We have also been learning about Symmetry, which links in very well to Islam .Symmetry can be seen in        Some  Islamic architecture, art and prayer mats. We have also been learning how to write a formal letter. We need to sign off now as we are going to a special drum  show!

What a lovely week!

This week, we have been learning all about the Islamic religion and one of our parents visited in order to tell us about Ramadan.  We tasted some dates and the majority of the pupils thought they were delicious. Yum!

Red Nose Day

Well the boys and girls looked fabulous today. We had red noses, red clothes, red nails, red hair and red glasses! Not to mention red cheeks, especially just after break and lunch!

Busy week for us.  We have been learning about the Battle of Bannock burn, more  about fractions, subtraction and we planned a recount of our amazing trip. Miss Fuller has been teaching us all about sentences with a capital letter at the start and a full stop at the end. We need a little more practise but that is our target for next week. Do you think we can do it?

Exciting Times!

What a fabulous week we have had! We had a very informative and fun  talk from Mr Penman all about Robert The Bruce and the Battle of  Bannockburn. Then , of course we visited the Bannockburn Heritage Centre on Thursday and it was our Book Day on Friday.

Assembly Fever

What a week! Rehearsals, rehearsals and more rehearsals but it all paid  off! The Primary 3  classes performed a fabulous show all about William Wallace. Luckily, we managed to fit in some fraction  work, some imaginative story planning and shape work in Art.

This week we have been very busy practising for our Assembly. It is very exciting! We All have lines to learn and are working hard perfecting our acting skills! On Friday, we had a visitor from the Wallace Monument who told us all about William Wallace and the Battle of Stirling Bridge. Afterwards, we  worked as a team to built our own bridges. It was hard work!

William Wallace Talk!

Mr Smith from the museum came to the school yesterday to talk to the P3′ s all about William Wallace. He showed us a sword and  leg cuffs. These would have been put on prisoners. He told us about “Blind Harry” a man who travelled to the different villages telling stories about William Wallace.  Mr Smith told  us all about the battles and  how they were won ( and lost). In Art, we painted the Wallace Monument and a portrait of William.
