Today in class we have been stretching our taste buds and trying some French Cuisine.
In class we set up our own Cafe and a we took turns to serve each other in the Cafe. Everybody used their super serving skills to make sure all our customers were happy. Those who were brave enough tried our Chef’s special Fromage. It was a great afternoon of French music, atmosphere and tasty treats. There is a funky smell left behind though, best get that Fromage out of here! 😉

P3 have been working hard preparing for their assembly next week. We have been having lots of fun making props and adding to our script. We can not wait to have you in to see our learning.
It is a brand new term with lots to look forward to in 2017.
This week alone has been jam packed. For example our topic launch of “Wildlife and their Habitats”. We have introduced a French topic which will go on for 8 weeks. We have started multiplication, time and 3D shapes. In literacy we have kicked stared some comprehension practice and we have planned and written a 3 part story.
Back to school circle time games.
Well done ladies for receiving a certificate for gymnastics.
Kick starting our multiplication practice. Beat the clock and bingo activities.
With so much learning going on it was time to take a break. The sky had opened to cover our playground in lots of fluffy snow.
A massive congratulations to all the P3’s for their hard work over the term during topic lessons and on their homework wall pieces. Everyone has shared such creative, colorful and inspiring pieces. Let the work speak for itself in these snaps.
We had our P3 Christmas Party on Thursday. To get prepared we made some festive party hats and got all dressed up. We had lots of ceilidh Dancing and thanks to Miss Nicholson for helping us learn all the steps. After a lot of dancing and games we went for a well deserved drink and snack in our now very festive classroom. All refreshed we went back for some more dancing and games. Well done to all our winners and to everyone for being so much fun.
We had a brilliant time and it was nice to get dressed up and celebrate a brilliant first half of the year.
It’s me Elfie, Shhhhhhh! Don’t tell your Teacher but I have found a way on to her blog. I have heard some of you talking about some of my friends staying with you. I was wandering if you could share some of your stories on this blog, as I really miss them sometimes. If you don’t have one of my friends staying with you I thought you could share some of your questions or even let me know what you might like from Santa Clause this year. I might be able to put a good word in. Can’t wait to hear from you all.
Our favorite book in class right now is Gangsta Granny. It is written by David Walliams and Illustrated by Tony Ross.
This story is about a boy called Ben and his Granny, who loves cabbage. Ben has funny parents who love ballroom dancing.
It is a comedy. It has really funny stuff in it. Ben hates spending time at his Granny’s house because it is boring. Soon his opinion will change an the adventures will begin…
We would recommend this book to our friends and family.
By P3E.
Well done to our P3’s for sharing our review on our Book Week Video created by P7. A huge Thank you to our very own Gangsta Granny for helping us bring the book to life.
Watch this space for our Menstrie Primary Twitter account to launch our Video.
We had so much fun during book week. We made books about monsters. We shared our favorite characters from books. We had our parents and guardians in to see our work. We dressed up as book characters for character day. We did a whole school daily read. We also made a book review which you can read in our book review post.
It was really good fun and some of us were lucky enough to win prizes for our hard work.
