Our Big day to the Egyptian show case and work shop in Edinburgh

Our school trip was at the National History Museum of Scotland. We had a lot of fun extending our learning about Egyptians. Before we went to the Museum we did an experiment to see if we could mummify or preserve a piece of apple. To do this we kept on sample bare and the other same had a mix of Salt and Baking Soda.

Our Results:

Ellsi ” the apply in sample one is all gooey”

Amelai C ” the apply in sample one is hairy”

Aaron ” the apple in sample two is shrunk and dry”

Kirsty ” it looks dry but its brown”

On the trip we went to a work shop. We became Egyptologists. To do this we had to show that we new lots of facts about mummies, pyramids and artefacts. We worked in teams to solve problems and make discoveries using various Egyptian objects.

Pupils showing us their scary Ammut  impression.

Working in teams to crack the codes

Just waiting for the bus to arrive before heading back to school. Souvenirs in hand and lots of happy faces.
